Pop Century or Saratoga Springs?

I continue to be amazed by how well people know which resorts – and which beds in which resorts! – are good v bad

Aren’t they all the same - except the pull-out sofas and chairs???

How can I be expected to remember these details. :joy: :dog:

Yes.

Yes (or at least mine)
I have only bedshared with either of my kids on less than a handful of occasions in their whole lives! It’s not for me. Give me a good old Mama Pile before bed, but once it’s bedtime you get your space and I get mine.

I was struck by it when DD22 and I stayed at SSR before the StarCruiser. The pull-down was not nearly as nice as the regular bed, but at Pop they seem identical.

I am definitely considering an after hours event too.

We will not have a car.

We have all three of us shared beds on vacation many times. Easier in a king, but we’ve even done it in a queen. Not something we do now that they are both adults, though!

I am. Two beds are nice but not opposed to one. Heck, we will be at Disney so who cares!

I will say the 1 br pull down has so far been awesome. Hoping it stays that way

Oh lord you have just described one of my nightmares

I have yet to experience long bus rides at SSR in maybe 4 or 5 times. Usually we’re at the 2nd bus stop.

I have at CBR and POR and OKW.

Same. Buses are just not an issue at SSR. (Not that I have experienced anyhow.) However, when we stayed at Pop, we had all kinds of issues with the Skyliner. Half of our days, it opened late, so we had to use a bus from Pop to HS and EP some of the time for rope drop. And of course lightning will shut it down. Not a problem with buses.

We love SSR, and if price were the same, I would always pick SSR over Pop. But…$600…you can buy LLMP every day if the trip with that kind of money!

But that quiet loveliness

$600 / 7 = $86 day. I would pay that for a nicer bed (for at least one of the two occupants), more luxurious accommodations, more relaxed vibe, etc. Plus the EEH. :man_shrugging:

But it’s an individual preference.

You’re not wrong!

To be clear, I would choose SSR…I was just expressing why the pull of saving that $600 could be there.

I mean, to be fair, we are spoiled and tend to stay in 1 BR instead of studio.

Surprisingly, the beds at Pop are very comfortable. Both of them.
I stayed with Julianne last Sunday at AKV. That sofa bed was something else. So awful, I ended up putting it on the floor and slept there.

I would choose Pop for this trip, and spend the saved money on LLSP and LLMP. I love Pop most of the time (it had some Skyliner issues when I stayed there in September and December so we opted for Sports last week). We went to visit at SSR the other day, it just felt really far away from things.

I agree, but I find the Deluxe beds (the actual beds, not sofa / pull-downs) to be much more comfortable.

I will glady share a bed with DD17 so if ya’ll are like us, then SSR sounds like the better choice to me UNLESS you’re not a rope dropper. That skyliner absolutely killed (and I mean that like in a good way, I think the kids say that these days) when we went in Dec 2023 but we never ever rope dropped so we never had to deal with those crowds and always literally hopped right on.

I have stayed deluxe quite a bit (though recently only at Disneyland) and didn’t notice much difference from the Pop beds. Certainly not $600 worth difference.
