Poll Time! The Case for Disney Park Entrances

I truly love how Disney World has something that resonates with (almost) anyone. :two_hearts:

I also think a lot of my Epcot love is built on nostalgia from when I was growing up (original Figment, Horizons, Magic Journeys, Innoventions, etc etc). I put “monorail ride to the Epcot entrance” (especially now that they fixed it!) as a non-negotiable in every trip plan I make, regardless of where I’m staying.

The front entrance to Epcot has a lot of nostalgia for me as well (it’s one of the main reasons I really have no desire to stay at a Crescent Lake resort and now don’t really even like the Skyliner resorts (though I’ll make an occasional exception for Riviera).

And (as long as it’s not down for refurb) I always have to do Spaceship Earth first for nostalgia. My dad led a church family trip to WDW when it was MK and Epcot. As part of it we all got 3-day hopper tickets so the bus would park at the TTC one day for MK, at Epcot another, and the third wherever the majority was planning to go. Obviously you could monorail to the opposite park any day. Epcot lot day, Daddy was explaining the park to everyone and said “You’ll come to Spaceship Earth first, but you don’t have to go on it first. You can go wherever in whatever order.” He then handed out the tickets to everyone which meant our family was last. But where did we go? Spaceship Earth! And while we were in line, we got “caught” by my pediatrician and her family who happened to be walking by while we were on the outside part of the line. So for me, it’s not Epcot if I don’t start it with Spacechip Earth!

I’m not using the same scale as others.
To me the best entrances are the ones I can get through the quickest!

That’s an intriguing way to view it…although by that metric, my answers don’t actually change!

I recently saw a video of Tokyo DisneySea’s Fantasy Springs that took my breath away, so I had to check out Tokyo DisneySea in general.

So now I have to go to there.

Epcot’s entrance and Hollywood Studios took my two other votes. Epcot’s entrance just makes me want to cry, it’s so pretty and uplifting. All it needs is a Fountain of Nations, and it would be the perfect park.

When are we (ok, you) going?

Same! That’s why I voted for Disneyland Paris. It’s so fast! None of the finger scanning or photo taking like at DLR.

Yes. Nor mine.

Walking is not automatic for me, involving paying attention to posture as much as anything.

AK stands above the other 3 main entrances for ease - flat and short distance - to the security/tap styles and then into the park. I have a small cross body bag and a cane. I’ve not been stopped for bag check.
Yes, then it’s uphill with apparently nothing to look at. When one is moving slowly, there is much to see.

Second best for flat and short is HS. Again, no bag check. And no congested walk thru a tunnel to get to the square and then the main avenue.

Worst entrance for flat and short is MK. And that tunnel. But no bag check

Epcot main entrance is flat but long from a bus. All the monorail station and stair supports are not very scenic. No bag check here. I do like the planting beds around the entrance plaza. I think it was 1986 when Florida got a big freeze in February. Whole orange groves died. The planting beds at Epcot were so sad. But crews were busy replanting.
