Poll Time! The Case for Disney Park Entrances

I like the journey through the Oasis. I think if they would have put it off to the side lass people would travel through it. But I think it sets the tone for the park. If you walked right in to the merchant area and the tree, to me, if would feel like a theme park. For me, it feels like something different. Like an animal park with shows and rides.

I took this to mean the walk up to the security/tap styles and actual entrance.

The worst is MK, especially if arriving by bus. Arriving by boat is better tho that walk under the train station is not scenic.

Epcot main entrance is nearly as off putting.
The IG entrance is better.

HS is a little better with the bus entrance because the vintage design and color of the entrance are striking and visible early in the walk in from bus parking.

AK is the best entrance for bus arrivals. The ambiance of the entrance plaza is immediately visible. And more easily (quickly?) obtained than say MK.

I haven’t paid any attention to parks outside the US cuz it’s doubtful I’d actually visit one.

I knew Karen @Wahoohokie would agree with me about Paris!

Yes! Beautiful castle and private entrance from the Disneyland Hotel. Plus no fingerprints or pictures. Just scan your ticket and go. So fast!! It’s the best!

I just want to be let in the park and to the attractions. Because I included security in the formula, that means Epcot and HS. It’s just fast.

The taps for DCA and DL are fine, but the manual bag checks are so lame and time eating. If that was more automated, those would be my vote.

Yes. And at least when I visited this fall the stages to actually accessing the park were manifold.

So they check every bag? They don’t use the scanners like WDW?

The what what?

Every bag. And some people have 4-6 weeks provisions on backs, it seems. :winking_face_with_tongue:

I’ve only been to Orlando and Paris so I used one of my three votes for “Other.”

Paris was nice, but anything with a Spaceship Earth view wins.

Interesting result so far - MK, EP, and Disneyland are the top three choices. DLP is the top international park, though that is probably as much because it is the most visited as it is the most aesthetically pleasing (though from pictures I’ve seen, it is that as well!).

By Epcot I mean the front entrance where Spaceship Earth is right there.

After reading comments I want to retract my vote for MK.

I completely agree that International Gateway should be its own entry, and I would rate it second behind Epcot main entrance from the monorail specifically.

AK I love, but it is such a hike (which mostly is a pain when leaving, to be fair).

My memory of the DHS entrance is a lot of concrete (and shops). I’m not sure why it feels more stark than Main Street? Maybe because that first circle in MK has plants, or the building / sign difference?

(I haven’t been to international parks (so sad), and I was only in Disneyland in 2019, so I don’t remember much except it was amazing to meet roaming characters immediately.)

I parsed the overall question as after the tapstiles / entering the park (with the views from monorail and Skyliner as bonuses).

For me, I love that you step onto a main hollywood street, with the Chinese theater just at the end of the block and an old timey feel as you move toward it

I agree with what you said. And it’s the music being played that puts me in the right mood as I enter. It’s my favorite.

You make a good point. I added HS as a second choice as a result. The old time Hollywood vibe is definitely cool when you arrive, even if it isn’t as visually stunning as Epcot.

So, I ended up going with Epcot first, by a long shot, then HS. Honestly, I am shocked how high MK is. For me it just isn’t even worth voting for as my third choice.

No, once you place your ballot in the box, what’s done is done.
But if you have any recently deceased relatives you can try to vote on their behalf

My mom passed away a few years ago. Will that work?
