Please Post Your Room Request Results

Thank you

We’re about to stay at the Swan- Can you tell me which rooms are the nicest? I think right now we’re booked into a standard king.

I’ve only stayed in King rooms. One time I paid for Theme Park View and the other time I was pixie dusted with an upgrade from no view to Theme Park View. I think the rooms are the same quality wise. But I would request to be closest to the elevator. The walk down the hall can be annoying after a long night. I wouldn’t necessarily pay for a Theme Park view again unless that is super important to you. I wouldn’t worry about making a specific room request. I would focus requesting close to an elevator personally.

Thanks! That’s really helpful information.

Not having luck with RRs lately. Last 2 trips, I have not gotten anything even near my request. It’s almost like they looked at my request and thought of giving me the opposite for fun. Both times I just went with it as I didn’t want the stress of having to go back to front desk for “the discussion”. IMO, these RRs are merely wishes without any possible guarantee. Trying to keep it real!

That’s not just your opinion, that’s actual fact.

Anyone who mistakes a request as a guarantee is surely going to be disappointed. It is simply a wish, and not all wishes are granted

I wouldn’t think Disney would give you - or anyone - the opposite of their request for fun.

Resort: Port Orleans French Quarter
Class of room Booked: Garden View Room
Method used: TP
Room Requested: 4241 - Requested any 2nd floor room in buildings 2, 3, or 4
Additional Circumstances: TA rate
Result: Received a complimentary upgrade to a River View room, 5119

I was pleasantly surprised by the upgraded room view! It was WONDERFUL! I enjoyed seeing and hearing the boats and horse drawn carriages pass just feet from my doorstep and would easily book a River View in the future as a result. I was close to everything, but at this compact resort it would be difficult to be far

I was initially nervous about not being on the 2nd floor (for noise reasons) but it was a total non-issue. I do think the walls are a bit thin at this resort as I could hear talking in both of the rooms on either side of me (one was a connecting room), and I could hear what sounded like actual bathroom activities (not just the flush) at times during the night.

I don’t want the second floor because of noise! Top floor is my preference, I think it’s easier to ignore noise coming from the floor below than the floor above.

I think I wanted 2nd floor rather than 3rd because in the garden view 3rd floor puts your face in the trees and you can’t see anything LOL

Oh that’s true!

Both of my last room requests were the opposite of what I asked as well. While I don’t think they intentionally said, “We’re going in a different direction”, it would have been nice if they could have gotten 1 of the 3 factors. It to keep my requests generic because the exact rooms are less important to me than general resort location (bldg, facing, nearby).

Resort: Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jambo)
Class of room booked: Savannah view (2 queen beds)
Method used: TP request
Room Requested: 3511 (Zebra Trail) [and near our friends]
Result: 3225 on the Kudu Trail

Overrall we considered it a win as despite being on the opposite trail, it was lobby level and on one of the main Savannahs. We also were traveling with friends who ended up 2 doors down (ironically in the same room from their only other stay at AKL) which was convenient for coordinating things.

3225 is very convenient to the lobby. The Savannah view of the animals was mixed results as we didn’t have great quantity when we were viewing and often they were distant, but guessing that was a timing thing often enough…

Resort: Caribbean Beach Resort
Class of room booked: 5th sleeper, standard view
Method used: TP request
Room Requested: 4157 (second floor in Jamaica 41 or 45)
Result: 4337

We got a second floor room in Jamaica, so I was happy. It also happened to be a corner room, which was nice. No view but close to Skyliner station and bus stop. I didn’t care about distance to the lobby or restaurants, since we only made that walk twice all week.

How did you word your request? I don’t need connecting but same floor or close to people we are traveling with would be nice.

You can call and request a “travel with” number. This will tell Disney to assign the rooms close by to one another as the system will recognize you as a group.

I just put something along the lines of “Traveling with John Doe (Reservation #xyz) and would like a nearby room”. Relatively simple overall - I think we’ve done that at Disney twice with them and have gotten placed within a few rooms both times which was ideal…

Good luck for your trip…

Overall was an absolute win - room was very quiet and close to the Skyliner. Room was updated with Little Mermaid theming. Absolutely loved the room and would stay in it again.

I did not make a room request, I did not specify anything on check in …and got 5th Floor BWI with view of Epcot. Perfect.
