Please Post Your Room Request Results

Bought the tickets through Costco—wife did all the purchasing/booking, not sure exactly how what she did.

I’ve only booked through the Marriott site so I don’t know if you can “link” a reservation on that site like you can on Disney. But it’s worth a shot. On their website under your upcoming trips you can scroll down to the details and add notes. I have no upcoming trips to a Marriott so I can’t be 100% sure this is still a thing. But this is where I have put my room requests in the past. Also, you can call the front desk prior to your trip (a couple days) and ask to put a request on your reservation.

I don’t think I posted any of my room requests for my last several trips so here are requests and results. When I make a request, I really don’t want a specific room but rather a specific area/location.
I put in a room number only because it’s required.

NOTE:
For the TP text box, I put this statement every time: I don’t have a specific room request but I would love to have any room in building 4 or 5 of the 1960’s section to be close to the skyliner. If that isn’t available any room in Building 6 of the 1970’s section would be my next choice. Any room on building 4, 5, or 6 would be perfect so that we could quickly access the skyliner. Being close to the skyliner is my priority.

I’ve gotten a room in one of the three building I asked for all four times in these four trips. Who says that Pop doesn’t get room requests???

October 2022
Resort: Pop Century
Class of room Booked: Standard Room
Method used: TP
Room Requested: 4456 (only because you have to chose a room number)
Additional Circumstances: See note below. I put this in the text box provided by TP for every request I make for Pop
Result: Was upgraded to a Preferred room. 5251. This met my request for one of the buildings I asked for.

March 2023
Resort: Pop
Class of room Booked: Standard room
Method used: TP
Room Requested: 4456
Additional Circumstances: see note
Result: 5236, room was in one of the three buildings I requested

May 2023
Resort: Pop
Class of room Booked: standard room
Method used: TP
Room Requested: 4456
Additional Circumstances: See note
Result: 6425, room was in one of the three buildings I requested

December 2023
Resort: Pop
Class of room Booked: standard room
Method used: TP
Room Requested: 4456
Additional Circumstances: see note
Result: 5236, also the exact room I was assigned in March too!!, met request for one of the three building I asked for

I find TP room requests to be very successful because I don’t make a request thinking I’m going to get that exact room I asked for. If you go in thinking you are going to get an exact room, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. I think the exact room is an unrealistic request.

When I started thinking about “why do I want this room” it wasn’t the room I wanted but the location of the room–close to the main building, close to the skyliner. When I go in to a request thinking what buildings meet my needs, the request is much more successful and I am totally satisfied.

I’ve started going very generic as well. I give a specific ideal room but then add, similar to what you said “any 3rd floor room in building 2,3,4 would be wonderful”

Here are my two requests for POFQ for October 2022 and October 2023.

October 2022
Had spent 2 days at Pop before moving to POFQ
Resort: POFQ
Class of Room: Standard room
Method Used: TP
Room 4115 requested
Result: 1314 room received Bld 1 connecting room but room was ready at arrival after split stay.
Here’s the text I used in the text box:
I would love to request a non-connecting room in building 4 on any floor. If that is not available, a non-connecting room in Building 3 or Building 1 would be great as well. My priority is a non-connecting room.
Result: 1314 room received Bld 1. It was connecting room but room was ready at arrival after split stay which was more important to me at the time. It was one of the buildings I requested. I don’t think there was anyone in the room next to us as I never heard any noise at all so the connecting room didn’t make a difference.

October 2023
Resort: POFQ
Class of Rooms booked; River view
Method Used: TP
Room requested: 5125
Note in the text box: I’d like to request a first floor river view room in Building 5, 6, or 2. I would prefer a first floor room but if that isn’t available, any River View room in Building 5, 6 or 2 would be great.
We have an early morning flight and will be arriving at the resort by 9:30AM.

Result: 5218 Ready at 9:52AM when we arrived 8:48 AM. We left for the airport at 3AM, so having the room ready right after we ate breakfast was perfect. Also got my first choice of buildings.

Again my room was no where near the area that I requested. There has to be a better way

However you make a request, there’s no guarantee you’ll get it or even anything similar.

Did you check at the desk to see if they could put you elsewhere?

Did you make a note on your request that you’d like a specific area versus the generic TP text?

If you see my posts above, I’ve gotten the location I wanted 6 out of 6 times in the last 15 months.

Do you pick a room and add info in the additional notes or do you skip the prepopulated info from picking a room through the TP room finder?
We are staying at Coronado in a little over a month and I really don’t care about the exact room but would really like a room out of 3 or 4 buildings. We have a standard King so I know they are more limited. I have to decide soon if I want TP to send the standard language based on a particular room or if I want to delete the text and say I just want a room in one of these 4 buildings… i havent been very sucessful in room requests with TP.

I pick a room that is my ideal

And then knowing what that is location-wise, I say that in the body of the request

I used Touring plan request form. I requested Ground floor, building 9 or 10 facing vegetation.
I got building 7 second floor facing the pool.
When I checked in at the front desk and restated my request, the best that they could do was building 9 third floor 2 away from the elevator. They claimed that they were near capacity. .

Ah this makes it super tough for them to be able to meet requests at all.

I think about this a lot. With all of the different rooms and stays, can you imagine how complex it is to fit everyone in during these busier times. How could they even begin to meet most room requests. I think it is just luck sometimes.

FYI: We just updated the room finder data for Caribbean Beach, Beach Club, and BC Villas.

Caribbean Beach’s room reno is done, according to Disney.

Yacht Club and Pop are probably next. Grand Flo is going through another room view recategorization this month, and we’ll update that when it’s done.

@len What about BWI? I was not able to use the room request because my room type was not listed. (Resort View 2 Qn+Daybed)

I updated BWI in late 2023. I see what you’re saying about the bed descriptions. Let me see if we have that data or can infer it.

Does anyone have the floor plan/layout for the hotel portion of Dolphin? I cannot find it anywhere online. To be clear, I mean a map of the rooms in relation to the lobby, elevators, exits, etc., not a diagram of how the rooms are furnished. The only thing I can find for Dolphin are maps of the convention/meeting portion of the hotel.

There’s a huge Swan/Dolphin thread on Disboards that may have this information/where someone might have an answer to this question: Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions | The DIS Disney Discussion Forums - DISboards.com
