You got a Village Green room! Yay! Congrats!
Thank you! I’ve never stayed there before and I wasn’t aware of this nickname. I just looked at the map and loved the views. We really felt in the middle of everything. I’ll definitely stay there again once the renovations are completed. The rooms need a spruce but the rest of the resort was so beautiful.
Gorgeous!
Thanks for sharing that! It is hilarious but I guess it is also not surprising!
- Resort - Grand Floridian Villas
- Class of room booked - Deluxe Studio
- Method used (e.g. fax request, note on reservation, on-line check-in, etc.) - TouringPlans
- Room requested - 1429 (see text below)
- Additional circumstances (anything that may have affected your request) - noted that we were checking my daughter in for DisneyCollege Program and wanted it to be extra special
- Result - 1428 - same vicinity as request, opposite view
The text of my request was as follows:
"Please consider placing us in a room in the following priority order:
- 1429 OR
- Any of the rooms 1129, 1229, 1329, 1429 OR
- Any room 1X05, 1X11, 1X29 on any floor OR
- Any room on a high floor if none of the above are available"
What I asked for:
I was pretty disappointed initially to see that we got the room across the hall from my request. I knew this meant I was not getting the view I hoped for (which was a partial lagoon view, with hopes of balcony fireworks viewing). When we stepped into the room, a monorail went whooshing by and my disappointment vanished instantly
What I got:
This probably is one of my favorite room views ever.
I enjoyed sitting at the dining table while working or having breakfast, reclining on the couch after a long day, or sitting on the balcony with my coffee and watching the monorails coming and going. I tried hard to catch 'em all but there are still some colors I didn’t see. Guess I’ll have to go back.
I got the tip from a trip report, and she sent me the room number in a DM! I was expecting roofs, so a little grotto with running water, conveniently located was fantastic.
Well done! The elisive Village Green!!!
This has to be somewhat fulfilling. Not like, “are your related to Hank Lonely?” fufilling, but still ![]()

This is tempting me to put in a room request. I was thinking of just letting it ride this trip but that sounds like a great room!
I really did love it.
Drawbacks to the original GFV building though is lack of coffee shop and bar/lounge in lobby and transportation is a hike.
Resort - Beach Club Villas
Class of room booked - Deluxe Studio
Method used (e.g. fax request, note on reservation, on-line check-in, etc.) - TouringPlans
Room requested - 205 (see text below)
Additional circumstances (anything that may have affected your request) - noted that I was only there for 1 night so hoped I could be as close to the lobby as possible on any floor 2 or higher
Result - 161 - ground floor in the next to last section before the parking lot. I was directly across from a door to the pool/parking lot and elevator bank. You could see the Epcot fireworks a little bit from the sliding door, but the trees mostly obstructed it. One complaint I saw about that room and rooms in that section in general is how loud the road noise is and honestly it was actually quite loud and distracting. This coming from someone who lives next to a major highway.
Despise this in any WDW resort experience. Will not stay in South Point at OKW again for that reason. Could see and hear East Buena Vista Blvd (I think that was the one) from the lanai.
Yes! That’s just unacceptable to me. I’ll honestly probably never stay at BC villas again. The main resort or YC, yes, but not the DVC rooms. I actually really liked the furnishings though and I didn’t even have a refurbed one.
The monorail is a much better view.

Result - Initially, we were assigned room 9438. That rooms was almost the complete opposite of the request for room class. I went to the front desk and simply asked for a first or second floor room. We were then assigned room 9104, which was very close to the original room request.
