We will be traveling to the Bahamas on the Dream. We’ve never gotten a passport before. Would a state issued birth certificate be ok for us, I know it says you can use that, just wondering if anyone ever just uses the birth certificate. Also, since I am married now, will they even accept mine since my name has changed? The passport seems like a lot of money. I’m willing to pay if that’s what’s best, but I don’t want to do it if it’s unnecessary.
A passport is ALWAYS best. If for some reason you have to disembark (e.g. a medical emergency) you will be able to do so without any hassles.
