Sailing on the Wonder in August as a party of 4 adults (2 staterooms). Our bookings opened last night and we rushed to book the glacier excursion first, then couldn’t get Palo brunch for the 4 of us. What seems odd is for our last day, there’s no availability for 2 or 4, but there is for 3. Do they really have tables available for just 3?
There’s another day that still has availability for 2. If we can book two parties of 2, will they seat us together once on board? Or should we just keep stalking to see if we can get a table for 4?

You can most definitely ask them and if they can they will accommodate. I was on a trip where there were several parties of 2-4 and we all ended up together by asking once on board.

The Palo booking system is so weird, I swear! I know when we did the Wonder there were tables arranged in a way that looked like they could be for 2 or 3 but wouldn’t quite fit 4 and still have room for walkways, and I noticed that was a different setup than we had seen at the other Palo’s we had seen (Wish & Fantasy).
You could book for 2 parties of 2 now and then go the first day to the dining requests team that will be setup for a few hours on embarkation day (usually 12:30-3ish) to ask them to combine them and/or even ask for other days or times that you prefer. What I’ve learned is they hold back some space and usually talking to them early on in that period will (mostly) get you whatever you really want for Palo.

I think we will try this then (along with stalking reservations in the meantime)! I just tried booking the 2 tables of 2 but they only had times an hour apart which we wouldn’t be interested in if they couldn’t combine. Good to know there is still hope once we get on board, but not the end of the world if we don’t get it.

In January on the Fantasy, we couldn’t get a reservation for 4 at Palo brunch but were able to book two groups of 2 for the same time. A quick stop at the dining reservation area at check in got them combined to one reservation for 4.
If I were you, I would book the two groups of 2 as close together time wise as possible and then try to merge them when you board. If you go as soon as you get on, it will probably be possible.

Oh nice, I’m glad that worked! Unfortunately, there’s no tables for 2 available anymore either, except for a day that doesn’t work. Only thing left is tables for 3 and I’m so tempted to just exclude my sister because she’s stuck on someone IRL who told her it “wasn’t worth it”
But I will keep looking!
