Next stop, Six Flags America.
I’m spending the weekend in the area, and i decided to skip work and go. This park is scheduled to close at the end of the season, so I’m hoping to get the coasters and rides early. i added the all parks passport to my account. Hopefully i won’t have issues because i don’t have a physical card.
I pulled into the parking lot at 9:55. The park opens at 10:00. They’re are a lot of school groups here and right now they are holding people at the gate and before security.
Since I didn’t get a plastic season pass card at great adventure my all parks pass wasn’t accepted. I just paid for a silver pass and next time I’m in jersey I’ll get my card
First up was centennial. A 100 year old woodie. It was better than el toro.

An extra sixty dollars and two hours of time to get to great adventure. But I wanted to hit up a few more parks this summer so it should be worth it
I did the Cajun spinning wild mouse and then went on centennial wild one again. Births rides were pretty much walk ons.
I’m in line for firebird after testing the seat. It closed easily. So far this might be my longest wait.

That sucks! I’d definitely talk to or e-mail Six Flags to see if there’s any way to get partial refund or free “bring a friend” tickets to compensate
Wooden coasters are my all time favorite. As a short person, they were the only type I could get on for a long time as a kid- lap bar only

Firebird is currently not running. I’m debating how much longer to give it or ditch for another ride.
Lordy–you and my DD9! She got on Lightning Rod at Dollywood–even my DH (who had no idea what he was getting on when I sent him up there) was like geez! 
She loved it too–said it was her favorite after Big Bear Mountain.
I’d ditch it. It’s early enough in the day to try again. Other queues are filling up…
(I don’t know the park layout. Is it in a hard to reach corner of the park or anything?)
Nothing else seems to be running.
But coasters are running again. My ditch time was 11:15. They started it again in time.

So Firebird took an hour from beginning to end. I’m at the steampunk section right now and waiting for the coaster here.

I did sky winder in the steampunk section. Pretty intense ride. Then I did roar. It was a bit rough but better than el toro too. I’m currently in line for jokers jinx
Thank you for posting about SFA. It’s my home park and I’m devastated that it’s closing. We’ve been going 10 plus years. I hope they reimburse you for the admission. I’ve been afraid to buy the all parks pass because that could happen.
