When both are available, which is better? What the advantages from booking via My Disney Experience?

Either are good, but if you get it in MDE, it will show up in your plans.

Is MDE allowing more flexibility with cancelling? I usually book Open Table when I have the option so I can cancel last minute if needed.

There is always the reschedule and cancel technique, but that doesn’t always work.
