Planning a large family trip for October and this year the whole group is going to stick together for Galaxy’s Edge! Usually the non-Star Wars fans park hop or go do other things while the few of us who do enjoy it spend the afternoon in that area.
I’ve done Oga’s twice before but this will be the first time going with more than 4 people. We’re thinking a 3pm time slot. How would you recommend us splitting a party of 11 with 8 adults and 3 kids (ages 8, 5, and 2)?
Would we all fit in one booth? Should we do 5 and 6 to make even groups or would having a party of 8 have a better chance for at least one part getting a booth while the other 3 could linger at a standing table nearby?
I know to ask when we check in to be seated together if possible but wasn’t sure how best to arrange the initial reservation.
You should get as large a party on the initial reservation as you can, but if you need to do two smaller reservations with overlapping windows, that is fine.
If two reservations, ask to be seated together when checking in.
Ask to be seated at a booth. You will probably have to wait longer – maybe a lot longer. The booths are obviously popular and there aren’t many of them. If you don’t ask for one, you have a low chance of being randomly assigned one, even if you have little kids (ask me how I know. )
I think when we had that big group of 10 there were at least 2 ressies that we asked them to merge when we checked in. As Jeff mentioned this often results in a bit of a wait but the end result is you all get a spot together.
Wanted to give an update! I read that they changed the Beak & Barrel reservation system to only allow a max party of 8, and for some reason that made me check Oga’s.
Oga’s now allows for a large party reservation! Looks like they’ll let you go as high as 20! I was able to get a single reservation for 11 people and drop my two 6 tops.
Hoping that will increase our chances of being sat all together in a booth.
