Off the beaten path...err...park

I know not everyone eats ground beef but if you’re a burger lover, my DH said that this was absolutely the best burger he’s had on property even over steakhouse 71!

At Three Bridges?
We do love burgers.

At D-Luxe last month, Tab had one and said, “That’s the best burger I’ve had in a long time. Actually, I think that’s the best burger I’ve had in my life.”

Yes at Three Bridges! He was pleasantly surprised at how good it was!

I had the chicken mole which was good - well presented, real nice piece of chicken, well seasoned. Just turns out I am not a huge fan of mole sauce! But that’s on me not them.

The drinks were great and the service was impeccable. And really it’s hard to beat the setting.

Ok - I’m sold. And since we are STAYING THERE it seems criminal not to check it out.
I can’t eat shrimp, I don’t care for tuna, and I am also not wild about mole sauce. At first glance the menu just doesn’t resonate. But the location looks so nice, and you’ve pointed out that guac and chips is always a choice!

Oh yes, it was at the QS in the main building.

Most if not all resorts have free activities. This site has pages of info on those resorts. Two days will not be enough, just sayin

Following along….such great ideas. I planned our Thanksgiving trip so very long ago, then life got crazy, and I woke up today realizing it’s ‘go time.

We too are planning on MMVMCP (Tues night) and EP Festival (Sat after thanksgiving) as well (but not Jollywood). I know MMVMCP tickets are on sale now, but when do the Festival dining reservations get released? I’ve read stressful threads on this but it has to be coming soon, no? We would like Biergarten but it seems like we will need to be flexible and be lucky to snag something at all.

This also reminded me to get the Boardwalk Recreation Activities guide for the holidays.

A month later, I am pulling up this thread again as I try to polish our plan for 11/1-11/11.

We have three non-park days.

The first we have breakfast at Sanaa (park at AK and take a bus), and lunch at either Typhoon Lagoon or All Star Sports.

The second we are doing breakfast at Rix, lunch at Siesta’s, and dinner at Three Bridges, and intend to leave the hotel only for maybe golf.

I need a plan for a third one. We have a car, and we hope to go to play a final round of mini golf later morning and we have MVMCP for night. We will likely do a hotel QS for either breakfast or lunch, but want to do something else for the other meal.

Is there a reason you are not planning to park at AKL-Kidani? With a breakfast reservation, they will let you park there, no problem. Then you can drive to Typhoon Lagoon, which I am understanding is your plan for the day? Or are you going to AK in the morning, too, and that’s why you’re parking at AK?

Have you ever eaten at Olivia’s at OKW? For some reason that came to mind. Here are some other meals I’ve had that I’ve enjoyed:

  • Sebastian’s (family style dining at CBR)
  • Whispering Canyon (WL)
  • Disney Springs: Polite Pig (technically QS but it’s really good), Homecomin’, Raglan Road, Boathouse (a little pricey), Chicken Guy (QS)

You can’t make a ressie for Sanaa breakfast

Oh does it count as QS for breakfast? Did not realize that nuance. I wonder if they’d still let you park there. It’s not adjacent to a park …

Sanaa is QS in the morning.

Perhaps.

As others have answered, I’ve been advised to not count on parking at Sanaa. It seems “easier” to me to just assume we can’t park there and go the assured route. I do think it would be a nice place to try in the AM.

Marie, Tab, and I did eat at Olivia’s on our August trip, and we all loved our breakfasts. That is a good option. Then we could go golfing and then return to our resort and grab QS lunch there.

I had a reservation for Sebastians for our middle non-park day, but ended up cancelling it thinking there are so many places at CSR.

My family always thinks they want to go to DS, and then no one really enjoys it as much as we think we are going to. Maybe if it’s not 100F, though. We are planning to eat at The Smokehouse on arrival day.

BUT - this just reminded me. I had completely forgotten. I need to figure out if when Christmas Tree Trail, or whatever it is called, will be open. We may NEED a second visit to DS.

But now I am sweet on Olivia’s. It was so peaceful and cozy.

Yes

AKL is always bizarrely strict about the parking thing

It’s a stroll now. And so it opens at 10a with DS. Trees are just all around DS now instead of its own trail space.

Oh, thank you @OBNurseNH !

I was just sitting here thinking I needed to look up the Christmas Tree thing! :christmas_tree:
Do you happen to know the start date?

Hasn’t been announced yet, but the expectation is around the first week of November or so.
