Once upon a time in the late 90s I could have probably written the article about Grand Admiral Thrawn, et all. But today these just make my eyes glaze over

I was way too busy parenting two boys then! But I’ve been able to try to catch up on most of the shows these past several years (retired!). I’ve even read several of the books, such as the ones about Thrawn. Those sure gave a new perspective on him!

Really enjoyed The Mandalorian & Grogu! My family felt that the plot could have used more work, but it was a fun action flick. And Grogu continues to be adorable.

His backstory is very brief in Clone Wars - IIRC he doesn’t show up again after the “movie” episode (that was released theatrically), and honestly it’s more of a joke than anything IMO. I think the whole connection is just meant to be a fun Easter egg, not serious.
Which I appreciate! No need for everything to be taken too seriously. This movie was so outrageous, if you think about it, that it forced the audience to just have fun with it. I mean it’s basically On the Waterfront + the Godfather with space slugs.

I said this to my DH on the way home. I feel like this is why the original 3 speak more to me. Like I don’t need to learn the politics of trade federations or six generations of Palpatine lineage to enjoy a movie!

To be clear, I appreciate the seriousness sometimes as well. But not every movie needs to feel the weight of the Galaxy. Those should be special.

If anyone is wondering how many times you can watch Mandalorian and Grogu at the theater before you decide that you are good for a while, it is 4
My daughter just went for her 4th showing last night and said she will wait for it to come out on Disney plus now
