NYT Opinion Piece re: WDW Cost/Economics

Hi - I’m working on a NYT Opinion Guest Essay relating to the cost/economics of WDW. Len has been very helpfu, and in addition to his expertise, I’d like to interview some families who would be willing to discuss their experiences with the cost and feasibility of WDW. I’m particularly interested in families that are a little on the cusp of affording the whole thing - maybe debating whether to do it at all, cutting back on how often, or otherwise being affected by cost considerations. I’m also interested in views on the monetization of ride access through Lightning Lane. Reply here if you’d be interested to talk, or ping me at dan@currellpllc.com.

For an example of the kind of writing I do (and perhaps to validate that I actually exist!), here’s a NYT piece from last year around this time: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/05/01/opinion/college-admissions-applications.html?unlocked_article_code=1.CE8.oeOW.hHatbnq4KWAF&smid=url-share

Thanks all -

Dan Currell

I do not fit the profile of who you’re looking to interview for your Disney article, but I wanted to say your college admissions piece was excellent. We had a very similar experience last year with our son. I’m curious if there have been any improvements this year. So that I don’t derail this thread, I’m going to send you a private message on something else related I’d love to hear your thoughts on too.

Good luck with your new piece!

I don’t fit the profile of what you’re looking for but I can recall other frequent visitors to this site who have mentioned a fact pattern along these lines. Hopefully they will feel comfortable reaching out.

Good luck! Hope you’ll share the piece when published.

Oh man, I remember this article when it came out just after we waded through the waters of college admissions for my then senior. (Not for the faint of heart anymore!!)

Such a great piece.

I am also not your target market, but I can’t wait to read your final piece.
