Caught some breeze on the zephyr. The big kids ran off to do Grizzly during that. If they took any photo evidence they have t sent it yet.
Watched the new Coco Familia Celebration show but did not have any kind of great view since we showed up 5 min before. It was cute tho. But almost all in English. I love the Spanish of Coco so I was sad they limited it so much. Rounded up this section of the park for now with Jumpin Jellies and Little Mermaid.
At 2pm we officially arrived at the part of the first day where we were just all hanging in until we were not homeless to go nap in the room.
But we made it! In the room and settled now for a quick nap and then back for the PM.
But before crashing we did fit in some fun in Carsland and Hollywoodland.
Naps ended up being a slight bit longer than we planned but that’s not a bad thing.
Didn’t get a chance to get photos because everyone was just not in a photo mood before naps, but we did get a Pym’s pretzel and a few of our favorites at Award Weiners to share which was a very early dinner or late lunch, or as we call it linner.
So once back we weren’t quite hungry and headed straight to doing more things. Since tomorrow night is a Halloween party, tonight we’re also enjoying the nighttime ambiance of DCA.
Just as we got here (next to load) Luigi’s went down. They were hopeful they could get it back up in time to run the people they had to dump off the ride so they had them line up in the exit ready to get back on. Luigi’s cousins (the cars you ride) were not on the same page so they eventually gave us a recovery LL good at DL for tonight only and sent us on our way 15 min before park close.
s
(Side note: if you look to the right of the lamppost and in between the string lights you can just spy the DL fireworks going off).
So we jetted over to Webslingers where it was posted 35 but we’ve only been in line 18 minutes and are done with the pre-show, and waiting to be sorted to load to Webslingers so just another 2-5 minutes left.
Enjoyed as much of the night as we could in DCA since tonight it will be all reserved for those with Oogie Boogie Bash tickets.
Dinner was planned to be corn dogs from Corn Dog Castle picked up ant some point but eaten after DCA closed. Well I didn’t know is that Corn Dog Castle closes at 9. But at 8:37 when while in line for Soarin I went in to figure out when we could schedule a mobile order for sometime between 9-10, I learned they no longer keep corn dogs available until park close.
No big deal tho, right? Disneyland is still open until 12am midnight and we have a whole list of food items we have t even started on for that side so getting some of them for dinner might work. Everything we were thinking of had also closed at 9pm (Tiana’s or Edelweiss). So frustrating. So we said, guess what kids, it’s ice cream for dinner! (And then we’ll get some things from Denny’s to share for the hotel room if anyone needs actual real food).
After ice cream we had 26 park minutes left to ride what we could in DL. We chose Big Thunder and had time to make it to Fantasyland for one last ride and maybe two if lucky.
The littles wanted Pinocchio’s and the bigs Mr. Toad’s. So we split up with DH & I both going with the littles. The big kids made it off Mr Toad’s in time to be the very last two people getting into line for the carousel at 11:59:59 with the CM chaining up the queue just as they entered.
After they were off the carousel, we slow walked out through the parks, and DH and the kids spent some time in the shops while I sat outside and looked at the fire station light. It was a very good ending to a very good day!
Also, DD4, she doesn’t even want these, but it sure does look like she does how she’s posing with them. ( she wants Jack & Sally from NBC more than these).
Photographic evidence that my older kids are actually on this trip when I say they split off to places yesterday all the way from Grizzly to riding Jingles, the horse dedicated to Julie Andrews,
on the Carousel
This morning everyone was generally easy to wake up and get started on our last day of Magic Keys. I may or may not be ready for this day to end.
But good thing we’re near the start. Crossed the street to DL 7:40, walking Main St by 7:52. Great and efficient on a Sunday morning.
The Elvis pumpkin over the music store was too cute.
First ride of the day Space. With our position and rope drop that allowed for maximum sleeping before and the fact we have a stroller, we were a 25 min wait back for the line to Space. I will take it!!
DS7 and DD4 filming a tutorial of how to measure yourself to check your height on their (very inexpensive and part of a group Christmas gift a couple years back) little camera we got them to document trips from their point of view.
My Stitch loving DD11 acquired this Stitch popcorn bucket yesterday before we left for the hotel and has been carrying him to everything ever since. So I wanted to get their photo at some point in Tomorrowland. She chose here.
DH had a question about if someplace took a discount and so he said, check the page. It lists it somewhere. So I pulled up the Magic Key page and I told him “This is a very dangerous page for me to be on today,” as I scrolled past 3 different links to renew.
While on Space our BG (9) was called for Haunted Mansion Holiday so we decided to get it done before it got any longer of a line. It was blissfully a walk on.
The new structure for what will be the gift shop at Haunted Mansion is coming along.
I do the swinging cages
Your youngest is so cute with her princess hands pose!
We just let our Magic Keys lapse as well. Sadness! But we’ll be back!
So glad to have your pics so we’re not going cold turkey after @Randall1028’s trip ended!
@ThorKat At first I would only do the non-swinging cages but now almost always we do swinging.
@lolabear_la One time DD21 and I rode with an inebriated mom and her young son. He was terrified and we spent the whole ride trying to reassure and/or distract him. Drunk mom gave us (well, me - DD21 was not having it!) a big hug when we got off. That’s a memory we talk about almost every time we ride!
IMO they are the highest thrill in the park, so definitely a fun one for thrill seekers. I’m ok with not doing them but will suck it up as long as they’re not combining parties.
Randall’s report is what made me want to do one. I was having fun following and I wanted to carry on the torch
We’re home now and I have so much to catch up on our last day, and I’ll get some of it up now while killing time in between school drop-offs for the kids. So where were we?
We had just finished, Haunted Mansion. The plan for the morning was to watch the wait times for Rise and get in when it did it’s after RD dip down to 45 min and work in eating Ronto Roaster morning wraps, one of our favorite DL breakfasts. That dip happened just as we got off HM so it was straight to Rise!
The wait spiked up to 60 min after we had been in a line a few minutes and increased all the way up to 80 min. Our timed wait (to the first preshow) per DS’s phone timer was 37 minute. Perfect execution of finding that sweet ride time!
I was day before yesterday years old before I realize that the ship off to the side here is Po’s and BB-8 is on it. I was so excited to figure that out.
We got our Ronto Roasters just after the ride and got the most perfect view to enjoy our breakfast in, with an R2-D2 sighting!
