I hope that this doesn’t become the norm. I have a bunch of consecutive one-night reservations in Feb. because my dates had been originally fuzzy. I’ll eventually merge them as needed. Since I can’t ever unmerge, I’m waiting until I’m certain.
With flight cancellations, I would think that lots of people need to add or subtract a day.
If you booked through DVC that should be fine. Whether on points or cash, it’s still “on your membership” and a DVC booking.

Just sharing that I booked ONE night DVC stay. The thread said it was possible, but wanted to share. This is fulfilling a bucket list to stay in a savanna view room.
