No More Single Rider Expedition Everest

I’m writing from Animal Kingdom today (on my birthday!) and I can confirm that single rider at Everest is no longer. (Pour out a Poppi for your homie.)

I was here four days ago, and it was still available at that time but today there is no sign and no line for it.

(Trying to post a photo to show you but I can’t find the icon for that on Safari on iPhone.)

I know they decided to make that change permanent. Actually, I was a little puzzled at the “breaking news” about this the other day because I thought they had already effectuated this change. I wonder if they will still use that back entrance for something? Can you tell?

I can confirm that the sign existed yesterday and it said “Single Riders: Closed” at the time I was there. So I wasn’t able to use it. I was considering riding twice — once SR, once LL — but I just used my LL instead.

Happy birthday!

I think I have been through the queue of this ride twice, but ridden the coaster many more times through SR. The SR line was so well hidden that your wait was usually 1/10th the posted wait, unlike Rock’n’Rollercoaster where SR barely saved any time, so I’m disappointed in its closure.

Since I’m a single rider 99% of the time (DH can’t ride most ride for health reasons), I’m always disappointed to see a single rider line go. Aside from having to stand in a long line for no real reason, I feel bad taking a long time when I know he’s waiting for me.
