I’m visiting DLR for the first time in ONE WEEK! Fireworks and nighttime shows are one of our priorities, and I see that Halloween Screams has fireworks on our DL day, Sun 10/4.
Any recommendations for viewing spots for Halloween Screams and how early should two people arrive to snag a spot? (There is only one show at 9:30)
I see Fire of the Rising Moons fireworks is also at 9:30, the same time as Halloween Screams. Is it the same fireworks from a different viewpoint?
We’ll be at DCA on Monday 10/5. World of Color ONE is at 9:00 PM and 10:15 PM. Is the bridge still a good viewing spot for the ONE version of the show?
I don’t have the patience to wait for fireworks in a desirable location. So I can’t help with that question. But this one I know:
Yes, the Fire of the Rising Moons is always the same fireworks as the show people are watching from Main Street, except with a Star Wars-themed soundtrack. I have never seen the Halloween version and I’m curious if they choose spooky Star Wars songs. It’s very close to where the fireworks are shot off so it can be a cool vantage point if your main goal is to see the pyrotechnics and don’t need to see the intended theming.
I will say that if you want to watch the actual Halloween fireworks, the Rivers of America and its a small world are both great options with less difficulty.
Yes, and it will be far easier (and more advantageous use of time) to watch the second showing if possible. You don’t really have to be that early to get a good spot for 10:15pm.
Wow, that is actually a pretty smart way to spread out the crowds. My friend’s family prefers rides over fireworks so she never gets to see them. I want to make sure she does this time! (I know sometimes the weather in CA doesn’t cooperate.)
DLR is going to be familiar but different! I have a feeling DLR is going to feel like the Twilight Zone to me.
I think that you’ll get a bigger thrill from seeing the Fireworks where you can get a decent view of the projections than you would from seeing them in Galaxy’s edge. The area in front of Small World affords a good view of projections and Fireworks. If you arrive about 45 mins ahead and stand facing Small World, you’ll have a great view. Plus you’ll get to see the Tapestry of Happiness projections on Small World at 8:55. They are surprisingly wonderful.
If you are in or near the Galaxy’s Edge part of the park at 8:30, the Luke Skywalker projections are amazing to see. I like to time my ride on Millenium Falcon so that I exit it around 15 mins before the show, and then grab a spot (easy to get) as I’m coming out. After that, you can head to Small World. It’s a lot of standing if you do all that, and that can be taxing on my back at that hour. If you need to choose between Luke and Screams with FWs, I recommend the latter.
