- Last year, Puy du Fou submitted plans for their third historical park, this one in England. While the local government of Oxfordshire is still weighing the pros (millions of pounds pumped into the local economy annually) and cons (traffic gridlock) the project has received a surprise endorsement from none other than the Royal Shakespeare Company. The RSC views this as a new medium to celebrate British culture. For those unaware, Puy du Fou is a unique theme park in France; rather than rides, they feature a daily series of elaborate shows reenacting battles from the history of France, from antiquity through to the Revolution. A second park was later built in Spain.
- As a result of the burgeoning bromance between the French President and the murderous Prince Muhammad bin Salman, Emmanuel Macron has announced that Quiddiyah Investment Company will be building a trio of theme parks in France. One of these, which is projected to be built on the site of the former Mirapolis amusement park, will be themed around manga. Macron hyped the project as the biggest theme park news “since Disneyland Paris.” The two leaders first stuck up a friendship by bonding over their shared love of the Japanese comics, particularly DragonBall Z. If you will remember, QIC announced their intentions to build the world’s first ever Dragon Ball theme park two years ago, which was met with universal international outrage from anime fans. Additionally, earlier this year, Parc Spirou in Montreux opened a new expansion with a land themed to Naruto, the first of it’s kind outside of Japan.
