New Years DAY in Disneyland or DCA?

Anybody have experience with the parks on New Year’s DAY (or even the day after)?? I see it’s showing max crowds on TP, but any special shows/events or suggestions on how to “survive” the day? We’ll be in SoCal during XMas Break and those are really the only two days available to see Disney. Wondering if we should go or pass and save it for another day (but no idea if/when that’ll happen!).

Holiday season is my fav time of year. HM & IASW holiday overlay, Castle & tree lighting, parade, FWs, snow falling, cookie decorating at Big Thunder Ranch jamboree area. The 1st year the Grand Californian Hotel has gingerbread house. Frozen coming to DCA sneak peek starts Dec 20. http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2014/12/new-frozen-fun-opens-at-disneyland-resort-january-7/ DeluxeAP holders’ll be there Jan 1st since that’s 1st day their APs are unblocked since Dec 20th. But locals normally don’t show up until a few hours after park open. Those going to Rose Bowl/parade on Jan 1st will probably be back after that day. Go at rope drop. If you have park hoppers, go to DCA, handles crowds better.
