Wait what?

Oh, no, no. Not “TWSS” she said, but she said as in what she said is what he said as well, and he and she cross-posted the same messaging.

Gotcha!

Yes, the “you are too far away” message that stops you from placing the order is new.

I used to have an issue with my phone’s location and I always got that message trying to check in for ADRs or when I tried to get on a wait list, even when I was at the restaurant.

I wonder if those of us with international phones phones will have the same issue? That would mean we would have to wait until we could show them the order in person.

You know what they’re like with implementing new features. Without fully testing it.

My first thought was is this another thing to stop people from parking at the resort. Show their mobile order is ready. A work around that has been shared.

That’s been happening for a while though. I’ve seen multiple reports of people with mobile orders - even mobile orders where someone had punched “I’m here, prepare my order” were not allowed into the Contemporary drive with the mobile order in an uber/lyft or their car.

Sounds like the Chic-fil-A method then.

Last weekend I tried to check into Wailulu from the lobby and it said I wasn’t close enough. Later I tried to order from Gaspirilla and it kept telling me I needed to be staying at the Grand Floridian. I was trying to order from my room in Big Pine Key.

Their Geo Fencing needs some work.

Restaurant check ins and virtual walk up lists (like at Geyser Point)

I think this is the exact reason. They are finding loopholes and buttoning them up.

But now no guest complaints that the oder they were allowed to “place”, Disney restricted you from picking up. Now you can’t even place it.

Right. The difference is between having to turn people away at the gates versus people not even bothering to show up at the gates to be turned away from.

I hate the Wal up lost restriction. If it’s a 45 minute wait why do I have to be there? I did try for GP from FW and the bus took awhile. By the time I got on property the wait went from 45 to 75 minutes.

I was turned away at the poly w/ just an QS order from C.Cooks; thankfully cust serv refunded the amount. They started doing this years ago w/ the monorail & skyliner resorts.

Not exactly. They were turning away people AFTER they placed an order. This change eliminates the possibility someone could even start down that path. They wouldn’t have to deal with people trying it at all because they could be blocked before even starting.

I’ve heard* that on Android if you use a FakeGPS app and set your location somewhere else before your start MDE, you can join walk up lists that would normally be “too far away”.
