New Little Mermaid Rooms at CBR

I just saw a photo posted of the new Little Mermaid Rooms at Caribbean Beach Resort. I believe these are replacing the Pirate rooms. Wow, what an upgrade! Plus, they have an additional sleep surface.

Right!? I want to go stay in that room now. They will be a hot commodity especially since the rest of the rooms are, imo, ready for a refurb.

Wow! That’s practically a DVC studio without the microwave… I wonder if the price is going to be raised accordingly.

Up until a week and a half ago I’d have said - yes, exponentially!
Now… maybe? I guess it’s contracted out and they’ll have to figure out how to pay for it. but maybe it will be less dramatic than it might have been

Holy Cow, this just got bumped up for me!

If it’s not considerably more expensive then they’re really going to be impossible to get. Who would pay $150-200 more per night for a studio just to have a microwave?

But I will say that while I think the theme fits the resort, LM already has representation at the resorts, so from that aspect it would have been nice for it to be something else.

I wonder if they will re-theme the rooms at AoA to something else after the fact?

So bright and clean! Love having having the big Murphy’s with a couch in the mod, and the extra pull down

Being a skyliner resort, Inwant to stay there now too!

So happy families of 5 are getting more options.

People who don’t pay attention to those kinds of details. Which, as per another thread, is actually more people than you might realize.

There are newer animation franchises that they could pop in there, or maybe Disney Jr, since they’re not at any of the resorts in any major way.

Super nice!

Don’t forget the toaster! (I am an avid toaster user!)

I went and looked at the square footage. While I love POP and those rooms are laid out super efficiently, I really notice the small size coming in at 260 sq ft (value avg). I would struggle staying there a week.

BUT the mods average 314 sq feet. That is 4 sq feet less than a AKL value studio. Deluxe, BLT and CC are only 30 more at 340 to 345 sq feet and the median of the rest of DVC hits at about 360.

If I didn’t own DVC I would definitely give up my toaster for that price difference and 30 - 40 sq feet.

(Edited to show I can do math)

Those rooms are fantastic! That’s what I would book, hands down.

Yes!! There are not a ton of options. We have always rented DVC points but glad there is a new option for a direct package deal through Disney now that is hopefully mid priced.

It is hard for sure if you don’t want to get two rooms! I’m glad to see more options as well.

I am a family of three but I always hated that there were sonfew options for five. Hopefully these are affordable! And hopefully the rest of the refurb has space for five (not just the redone pirate rooms)

I believe the already do have rooms with a 5th sleeper.

*Also: " Permits Suggest More Widespread Room Refurbishment Than Just “Pirate Rooms” at Caribbean Beach Resort"

It’s such a lightly themed room compared to the pirate rooms and the Royal Rooms at POR that I can’t imagine it’s just a pirate replacement. I bet it ends up being the whole resort.

That is what i was thinking too. Hard to believe they would get rid of the “premium” pricing, but maybe they weren’t selling? Or they could upcharge for better location (in this case, I don’t know if they are).

Wow! That looks spectacular!
