New Disneyland Paris restaurant looks incredible

Yeah I’m okay with that and used to French style service. My brother lived in NZ for several years and service is bad there too. You’d have to go to the bar to order another drink for example. It’s because it’s not a tip-based society.

We haven’t tried Pym’s either, I like the DCA version. We have been to Walt’s twice, Chez Remy’s once, Captain Jack’s once. We enjoyed all of them for what they are- fun Disney themed dining. The food isn’t Michelin star or anything, but perfectly acceptable. Royal Banquet was much better than I thought it might be for a buffet. But we love seafood and all sorts of different types of food, so it was a good fit.

I think you and I have similar food tastes from past trip reports so this is good to hear! I like seafood a lot and that part of the buffet looks fantastic. Langoustines are soooo good.

They didn’t have langoustines on the buffet when we were there in December. They did have the lobsters and crab claws, though. The crab claws were good; the lobster tasted a bit off so we didn’t eat much of it. They also had oysters that were tasty.

There is a little stand on Main Street in DL (on the right as you walk towards the castle). In The Studios Park, there is a place inside the building you pass through after entering- Studio 1.

Interesting the lobster was off and the oysters fine ha ha ha. I like good oysters but they have to be super fresh. The moment they get fishy tasting at all I’m out.

Sorry to hear you didn’t have a great experience here. Restaurant service everywhere in Europe drives this impatient American up a wall.

No - when I say the service was poor, I mean the service was poor compared to restaurants in Paris proper, not compared to the US parks. We found the service at Paris restaurants far superior to DLP.

Yeah when we were in Scotland we kept wondering why noone ever offered us the check until we asked here our shmebulock let us know we had to ask for it…to which the answer was always “Of course ya can” I still say this and “wee” all the time now. But we are so used to the American restaurants trying to move tables as fast as possible.

Well, it shouldn’t have really been an issue given that it was a buffet, lol. But they had one guy trying to corral people into different lines to get to the buffet and he was very rude. I saw him actually yell at at least two different children.

Interesting and good to know so we’re prepared to ask for things and go find people! We’re doing Paris proper first too so I expect we’ll feel like you (half the week in 1st arrond. then half here, then Amalfi coast, Italy for a week)

We were there over Christmas, and oysters are traditional in France (and at the height of the season) during that time of year, so we may have gotten lucky there!

I’ll report back how the service is here. If they are aiming for a star I expect it’ll be better.

You’re very welcome to! The only criteria is being a girl as it’s a girls trip! NO stinky boys allowed! ha ha ha

Totes agree. Haven’t eaten in the Disneyland but the food generally at DLP is shockingly bad - and it’s got better than it used to be. Over-priced, small portions and just very bland flavours with some slightly odd recipe choices. Shame. when it opened the food was immense! Hotels are better than the parks but they really need to up their game. The non-Disney one (the old Check Mickey’s) is by far and away the best place to eat. It is in Disney village and definitely worth the walk out of the park. Brasserie Rosalie its called. Remy’s was okay but it’s quite pricey for basic quality.

*Chef Mickey’s even!

Oof, that price though. My first thought was “How much??? Each???”

No kidding! I was excited for a new option for our summer trip, but with a party of 8 that price isn’t happening!
