Not enough people were swayed away from resale with the ever so enticing option to scramble for tickets to a free event held 4 times a year announced 3 weeks in advance?
This is little surprise. Disney finds whatever way they can!
I got a call from a very friendly DVC rep for the first time a couple weeks ago. They were so friendly, wanting to wish us a great trip and cruise…and then about 4 minutes into the conversation came the sales pitch. But, sorry…no matter how friendly you are, I just can’t justify the many extra thousands of dollars to buy direct. The $500 fee wouldn’t sway me either.
Interestingly, we don’t qualify for DVC merch discounts…but when we used Mobile Checkout at World of Disney, it gave it to is anyhow!
Mobile checkout has always given the discount automatically. A nice little bonus.
I found out we get the DVC merch discount even without mobile checkout. When you go to your profile, it just says DVC Member with no indication we are resale. I was able to show them at a gift shop directly and they applied to 20% discount! Very nice!
At Aulani, they were more savy and made me go to my electronic wallet.
This was the perfect response. Disney needs to be careful and not kill off resale too much, it will only harm them in the long run.
Which show is this?
The Princess Bride.
Wow, I had completely forgotten this scene! I guess it’s time to watch it again!
