But I was planning out my trip next month, and as a passing fancy, I decided to look at what was available at WDW in case I wanted to make it an extra night. Well, the possibility of the event being sold out never occurred to me because Universal never has that problem
So I want to know for those of you who are seasoned veterans, generally how far in advance do you normally reserve your tickets? The day they become available?
I’ve only been once, but I keep an eye on WDW news daily.
When to buy? It depends - on what date you are aiming for. Here’s an excerpt from a recent wdwmagic.com article. All parks sell out, but Aug 30 was the only one to not sell out in advance, the first since 2021 to do so. It sold out the day of. Sept 17 is the earliest date for a total sell out since 2022. If you know your date for sure, buy it early and lock it in.
The closer your date is to Halloween, the earlier you have to buy. This year I knew I was going end of August - I bought my tickets 5 days before…but they sold out almost immediately after that.
Halloween and the first party sell out quite quickly.
I check prices as soon as they release tickets and then try and build my plans around that…then try go get my tickets just as soon as I know.
Whenever we plan to go to a WDW party, we usually buy the tickets either when they come out or as soon as we make the decision, if they are already out. But as mentioned by others, some party dates sell out much faster than others, so that is a parameter to consider.
MNSSHP is very unlike HHN. At no point does it try to scare you or gross you out. It is much more entertainment oriented. There is a amazing parade (possibly the best parade at WDW), a very nice Castle Show, themed fireworks, lots of character meet and greets, trick or treating and some dance parties, primarily for young ones. The atmosphere is fun, much more family friendly and cute. Many people in costumes, with whole families dressed with one theme, and extraordinary photo opportunities.
If you love HHN, you might find MNSSHP boring or not your cup of tea.
Personally we did HHN once, with a VIP tour and I did not enjoy it. On the other hand I love MNSSHP.
