MVMCP or DHS Jolly - Worth the $$$$?

I am heading to WDW Thanksgiving week for a staycation (no parks) & am wondering if a ticket to MVMCP or to DHS Jollywood party is worth the $200+ price tags. This is a solo trip & am wondering if either is worth that much money for 5 hours.

I adore MVMCP and would pick that over Jollywood - but both are quite fun! For me, it is the parade and the castle show that sell me on MVMCP if I’m only giving my money to one or the other. Plus, I think Jollywood is more fun with a group…photo ops and whatnot, so solo I’d also give the nod to MVMCP (I’ve done both, both ways)

With MVMCP, although the event is 7-Midnight, you can get in the park with your ticket at 4pm…giving you a bonus 3 hours. (Plus all the free cookies and cocoa you can manage)

With Jollywood, the event is 7:30pm-12:30am, you can get in at 5:30pm…so only 2 bonus hours.

So MVMCP is one hour longer.

I’ve never looked into Jollywood. I did MVMCP in 2019 as a Dream Come True. I had planned to do it this year with my youngest two and DH, but I can’t stomach the $700 tag. For just one ticket… I could be swayed.

I think either would be a lot of fun.

Jollywood is fun if you’re with a group and dress up. I don’t think it would be worth it solo.

We are doing both this year, and plan to dress up a bit for Jollywood. We had a blast at MVMCP in 2022 (not to mention got to meet @PrincipalTinker in person!) so are looking forward to a similar experience. Jollywood will be new for us.

It’s always easy to spend other people’s money, but I think MVMCP is a lot of fun and worth the ticket cost. Many years ago DW and I were in Orlando during the week of our 1 year anniversary on a non-Disney trip and we decided to spend our anniversary night at MVMCP.

Worth is in the eyes of the beholder! Every time I mention how much Disney tickets cost, DH reminds me of how much professional sport tickets cost and how some fans spend money following their teams around the country!

I did both last year, solo. Personally, I liked MVMCP better (my third time) because I love the parade, fireworks, and stage shows. I also got a few rides in.

Jollywood, like @StinsyLinson, mentioned, is better with more people to lounge around enjoying the music, drinks, and food. You end up spending even more money! But I think it is more relaxing.

I agree w/ everything here!

I did this too in 2024, was that they first year of Jollywood? Anyway, for the money I think as @StinsyLinson said, MVMCP is a better value. If I had the discretionary funds to go to both I would but I have to make choices. I’d rather spend the money on upgrading my AP

@stlouie said I was there in 2023  How does she remember these things :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

FL resident AP prices are the best! Envious!

We would have gone together if it was 2023!

I know I went to Jollywood alone and I don’t remember going twice because I think we were already out of the country for the second year. It would have been nice to go w/ you though. Next time 2026???

I’m another person who has done both parties solo. I loved both, but 100% agree that MVMCP is the better party & value.

Arrive at the taps at 3pm and you’ll have about 8 hours of fun. I stayed until 2am taking my time leaving the park, shopping, lots of last minute photos and etc! I got my money’s worth!! :money_mouth_face:

After 10:30pm the crowds mostly vanish because the main parades, fireworks and most characters are done. There are still other shows until midnight. Characters stop everywhere at 11pm.

The cookies are actually really good!! Coco is meh.

I still like Jollywood A LOT, but I get dressed up and am very social. I always make theme park friends in queues. Plus, kids adore me because I’m 5’ 2” and outgoing.

I am doing both again this year, but I really love Jollywood. Crowds were smaller and I thought the food was a better quality (of course, not included in the price tag, but me and my niece split a lot of it so we could taste a bunch and make it more affordable). I love the character offerings (one of my favorite photos ever is me and my niece with Santa Duffy at Jollywood!). The ice skating show was meh, but we really liked the one in the theater and Prep and Landing is one of my holiday favorites.

What is “Prep and Landing”?

It’s a Disney Christmas special about elves. That is the basis for the projection show on the Chinese theater during the party.

Prep & Landing (series) - Wikipedia

It came out when my DS was little and he was obsessed. He named our Elf on the Shelf Wayne after one of the main characters. He’s 16 now and I still insist we watch it every Christmas season (that and Arthur Christmas).

Are you for serious? If you have D+ you should be able to watch the cutest holiday show :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I no longer have D+…but I did see the holiday projection show, so I think I know what you are referring to. I never saw it (Prep and Landing that is).
