There were squares!

Seems a little nutty to me.

 A little too obvious on the dad joke there…but it’s Monday so I’ll allow it…

I finally just finished your epic trip report! Sorry, I got behind with the forum in the fall, and am still trying to catch up. So glad you finally got to travel to North America and it looks like you had an amazing time. All of the photos were just beautiful. After a long time on the road though, it’s always great to get home and get centered. Calvin is adorable. Thanks for always entertaining us with your wit and commentary. Glad your trip was (mostly) a success!

Umm… that would be me

I know I am late to this party here… but can one of our Canadian friends please confirm that airport code YYZ for Toronto is a tip of the hat to Rush? Because that would be awesome!

It’s more like Rush used YYZ in their song, which was written long after the YYZ designation for Toronto’s Pearson International airport. This article has a good explanation. One of Rush’s members is a pilot and heard the Morse code UHF signal for that airport, which is near their area. "YYZ" by Rush - Song Meanings and Facts

I didn’t even think of that… but it makes a lot more sense. Thanks!

@sanstitre_has_left_the_building - So sorry to distract you from your current trip. Hope you are feeling better today. Planning a short jaunt to Niagara Falls in August 2022. Would you still recommend the Sheraton Fallsview, or is there another hotel that you would try next time? Top priorities: cleanliness, updated decor, convenience, view of the falls. Thanks!

100% recommend

Make sure you get a high floor, falls view room.

Thank you! Hope you are well and just overdid it a bit with the heat!

@poohfanclub IMO, the Sheraton Fallsview is absolutely NOT worth the cost unless you get the high fallsview rooms, and if you can splurge for the Juliet balcony, it’s absolutely magical.

The rest of that hotel is just ok, but you can do better for the cost. The embassy suites and Hilton are both better overall hotels. If you’re not staying in a fallsview room (or at a casino), then I recommend staying in a B&B - there are many of them that can really enhance a falls trip.
