Feel free to roll your eyes and/or pelt me with garbage, but I need some help!
What’s the latest intel on Monsieur Paul? I realize it’s likely not truly worth the cost or time commitment, but all I’m really looking for is competently executed classic French cuisine in a reasonably elegant atmosphere. I have no issues with it being a prix fixe menu. Will it fit the bill or will I be hugely disappointed?
Lightning Lane Premier Pass - can I still purchase LL SP in addition to what is provided via PP (so I could ride Tron, for example, twice)? And are the SP purchase limits still in place? Historically I believe you could only buy two SP’s per day (for different SP rides)? If so, can you still buy two SP or does your PP count as one of them?
And I feel like I keep coming across conflicting information on this: is it correct that Four Seasons Orlando guests “only” have the 3 day LL PP pre-purchase window? And is it 3 days before your visit for each day of your trip (rolling), or 3 days before the first day of your reservation and you can book any day of your reservation?
Looks like Four Seasons is not on there. (The Disney Resort hotels links to a list of all the true Disney hotels.)
The 3-day rule works as follows:
If you have a date-based ticket, you are eligible to book 3 days before the first day of your ticket, for the length of ticket up to 14 days.
If you have a non-date-based ticket (i.e., Annual Pass or, I believe, some military tickets?), you can book 3 days before the day of your visit, one day at a time. There is no “length of ticket” concept, so each day’s 3-day eligibility is calculated independently.
You must have a park reservation if required for your ticket to book LLs. (If not required, including good-to-go days, you don’t need a park reservation to book LLs).
If you want to game the system a little, I would recommend getting a date-based ticket that is longer than what you need. i.e., if you get a 14-day ticket that you only intend to use for 7 days, you can enter the start date as 7 days before your first actual planned park day. That way you can book your whole trip 10 days before you arrive (7 + 3).
I have never been to Monsieur Paul and probably wouldn’t cause authentic cuisine is not my thing (I like slightly Americanized versions LOL). But I say go ahead and try it! I have often been surprised by my own reaction to things compared to what the haters online say. You never know until you try.
Truly - you have nothing to lose for trying it. And you obviously are interested.
It’s much less expensive than a trip to France. And it’s more convenient than it might be traveling to big cities with “perfect” experiences.
I have not been to MP since it reopened, but I did really enjoy it in 2018. Very classy and the food was delicious and authentic. Definitely took me back to my childhood in France.
I think Becky (@raisingminniemes on Instagram) has been to Mounsieur Paul in the last year or so? I don’t remember details but she certainly would. I do agree that anything is worth a try, and that it’s cheaper than going to France!
I book this resort a ton as I am a Four Seasons Preferred Partner and sadly it does NOT get that window… it’s a bummer, and I’ve actually been on their management meetings about how this impacts the ability to sell the resort, but I don’t think it will change. That difference is the main reason I sell people club level at the grand instead of a room at FS. VIP tours also don’t get the 60+10 advantage which can be critical over the holidays.
my husband has a conference at the JW Bonner Creek over presidents weekend and I was just looking at data on when MK PP sold out for that weekend last year. 8 whole dang days in advance. Even if we were onsite, we couldn’t get passes because we can’t check in til Thursday. Guess I better pull out the old Liner hat and flex my planning muscles!!!
LLPP being sold out is a concern of mine, but the family is insisting on the FSO so it is what it is.
We will be there the second week of June next summer - and we will probably end the trip at the MK, so I’m hoping we still end up in decent shape. But we’ll see!
