Monorail and Park Hoppper

Do you need park hopper to take the monorail between Magic Kingdom and Epcot?

No. You don’t even need a ticket to ride the monorail!

I think this would depend on what approach you are looking for. If you are staying at Epcot resorts and want to use the monorail to go to MK you would need a hopper to walk through Epcot. Not sure how efficient it is to get to the front entrance of Epcot to get to the monorail without going through the park.

The off-site hotel we’re staying at has a shuttle that picks up and drops off only at Epcot, so we were thinking of taking an Uber to Contemporary in the morning, and then monorailing it to Epcot to catch the shuttle back in the evening.

This is not Universal where you need 2 park ticket to ride the train over there.

The monorail is free to ride.

That is a good idea! And it is actually really neat because you will get to ride the monorail “thru” Epcot which is my favorite part. But it drops you off outside the gates.

Oh, that is fun! We’ve done Epcot before and didn’t want to do it badly enough again to pay for it, but then we can at least say we went through it.
