MNSSHP August trip - Questions, Ideas, and Woes

In what can only be described as unbelievable - I am taking another Disney-ish trip this year! :open_mouth:

I am taking DD20 (by then) and DD18 to the August 13, MNSSHP to fulfill a dream of DD20. (DD18 is tagging along bc why not.)

Questions - are party goers, who have no other tickets, allowed to buy G+. (I will have more questions if this is a yes.)

Ideas - I need help with Disney Bounds or costumes for Trios. DD20 is a huge Disney-phile and will be all about this. DD18 is less so, but would go along if she thinks it is cool and Instagram worthy.

Woes - I am kicking myself bc last night I grabbed a Priceline rate for POP for the two nights, but then cancelled it today to book something else $100 cheaper AND with free breakfast. But then I realized the ā€œfree parkingā€ was $26 a night. (What in the world?) I have since booked and cancelled three other hotels (can’t wait to see my credit card statement) and am now just not the least bit sure where I am going to stay. The negative for POP is girls will have to share a bed and off property I can get free breakfasts and a hotel with two beds and sofa bed for much less. The positive for POP is buses vs. me driving at 12:30AM.

I’ve never done MNSSHP and I want all the info. We will be at the second party of the year, so intel will be light.

I don’t think so but you don’t need it for the party.

I went in October 5th last year and was in line at MK by 3:15. I was inside around 3:50. So, to make the most of your time, get to MK early.

I wore a Minnie Mouse Halloween t-shirt I got from Etsy and ears with a matching purple bow. It was HOT so I would recommend wearing something that is cool and not a big costume.

I used BG1 to get Tron and rode it around 6:15-6:30 with no wait. My main goal was to do the party exclusive stuff–the parade (which I watched twice), fireworks, Cadaver Dans, Haunted Mansion (with live actors in the graveyard), party exclusive snacks, and the special photos. I watched the villain stage show at midnight then went to the Confectionary to get an apple and cookies. I left MK around 12:50 and was back at POFQ not long after 1:00AM.

Thank you for all this help!

Do you know the earliest guests are traditionally allowed in?

great point. August is no joke.

seriously forgot about this altogether.

This will be DD20’s goal. I am creeped out by most things Halloween, so this is definitely a mom-loves-you effort. DD18 is also creeped out by a lot. I think she and I may visit more of the rides.

cookies is never a bad end to a night!

Are their snacks like MVMCP or is it just TOT treats?

Thank you so much for your help!

There are party exclusive snacks for purchase. The only free snacks are the trick or treat candy.

You MUST see the parade. I didn’t find anything to be creepy or scary the entire party.

The started letting people in around 3:45-3:50 as indicated by the applause and cheers. I was not at the front of the pack by any means and have a video walking to get my trick or treat bag and party map at 3:55. I went straight to COP because it’s my favorite and a must do every trip and because I was hot and sweaty and wanted to cool off.

The COP made me smile.
At DLR last week DD18 asked if they had ā€œthe circle thing with the famous songā€ & it full on took me two minutes to fisher out WHAT she was talking about.

I went in Sept. last year & did a ā€œliveā€ trip report. Right from the moment I got there until I was, literally, the last person in the bus / Uber pick-up area!! It’s was a blast… If you want to read it, start here…

If you just want me to answer questions, I’ll gladly try!!

It’s going to be SUPER HOT in August!! Be aware, if you choose to wear a costume!! :sunny:
