We have a box of wires. It has now been reduced to a large shoe box but twice it has come in handy over 18 years 
Last year, lateish on a Friday we lost power to our kitchen, office and Den.
I had already gone to bed, but heard the power blip and walked down to DW and DD in the kitchen trying to figure out what was going on.
I noticed that the GFCI outlet in the kitchen looked a little rough. Within minutes I rummaged through my misc box, extracted a GFCI I bought about 22 years ago and had it swapped out within about 10 minutes.
Girls were laughing in amazement at my magic Dad box full of gear and that I was doing electrical work in my pajamas. 
Oh, that’s a separate box (rack). The good thing about DH managing rentals is we always have extra outlets, towel bars, shower curtain rods, light bulbs, ceiling light fixtures, switches, all the electrical and plumbing needs one could want, etc. Since we do not have a garage and a tree fell on the shed during Hurricane Ida, it’s a good thing the kids do not live at home. One of their bedrooms are lined with heavy duty metal racks with shelves. There’s a lot of organized chaos going on in there. I keep the door shut unless I need to grab boat stuff, lol.
You’ve done a horrible job, though. Do better!
The bear survived a fire as a cub - he was delusional.
Always be skeptical of what bigger beings tell you.
