It’s known as 4:20, the time to smoke weed. That was the original use of that term, then years later that expanded into 4/20 or April 20th as a special date for weed. To some of us who were in high school and college in IA/MN in the '70s, the phrase “time for the 4:20 buzz cut” was popular.
Wikipedia has a nice article on it, including the origins.
ETA: It’s unfortunate that the date is also when the Columbine High School massacre happened in 1999.
