I love how eloquently you said that too! Thank you.
Are you saying Tony Stark is an underdog? In what sense?
I’m having a hard time seeing a exceptionally rich, white, straight man who almost always gets his way as an underdog…I guess he’s not a god/demigod and doesn’t have superpowers?
I believe she was talking about captain America. I could be wrong though
ETA I was wrong. It was janamelia, i believe, who was calling captain America the underdog.
Just because a person is a rich, white straight man doesn’t mean he can’t also be broken on the inside.
Mental health is the least discriminatory out of all of us.
Having money certainly can make things easier, but it isn’t a magic fix-all. In a lot of ways, it just exasperates the problems.
As for Stark, and I’m keeping OBNursesNH’s wish not to give spoilers, in the first movie he had to come to terms with his involvement in making weapons. He saw firsthand the destruction they caused, and he now has to live with that relentless guilt and constant ensuing nightmares. I feel incredibly sorry for him for that alone.
He’s also been kidnapped and tortured and he’s fighting the shrapnel working it’s way to his heart. All while living in a world where people hate him for his intelligence and his wealth who will do everything they can to take his company/money/image etc. I hope he finds peace. (I’ve seen all the movies, but really trying not to ruin things for her).
I realize he’s not everyone’s underdog, and that’s ok. But he’s one of mine. The one with the most “friends” who when no one else is looking, feels most alone.
Sorry, no. @Bubblez was mentioning Tony Stark.
The MCU characters have much for their fans to connect with.
Edited to add, I did mention underdogs but only generally. Along with humilty and humor, if I’m recalling correctly.
I’ve continued my binge on SHIELD and am pretty much hooked now. I’m on S2E9 as I type this and I’m wondering how this will hold up. So much had been building up to what is happening now (We’ve just found out about Skye’s parents, what happened to Coulson, Tahiti, who Whitehall is etc) and this is not even half way through season 2. will they drag this same plotline for many episodes? I hope not, but if it comes to some conclusion, how will it carry on? Is it just and endless cat and mouse game between SHIELD and Hydra? That has to get tiring at some point.
Like I mentioned before, it has a lot of generic action/police TV show qualities to it and is at times very repetitive but I like the characters and so far the storyline is very interesting.
I also continued with the movies yesterday and watched Civil War for the first time. It was good, so far I’ve actually liked all the Captain America movies the best, much more than for example Ultron which I wanted to fast forward. They could’ve cut like 20 minutes of repetitive fight scenes out of it though to be honest, but that applies to almost all of these movies… This is just my gripe and I know many would disagree, it just bores me and I want to jump to the next scene.
It’s a magical place!
No, it even gets better!!
I can see where you’re coming from, but there’s often a fair bit of humour added to the action scenes, which help hold my attention.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. becomes very addictive.
You think they cannot take it any further and then the next season comes out. I can’t wait for you to get to the end of the series!
I recognize this place! Where is it really?
Not a clue but it’s lovely!
I know!!
How fun!!
Or Endgame.
Ooohh I guessed right! I just didn’t know how to guess with no spoilers!
Just saw Shang Chi and loved it. Sorry I didn’t take your advice about 4DX. Obsessed with how beautiful the fight scenes were and I am not usually into that. The whole thing was beautiful and fun.
Yes indeed
I’m on season 2 ep 17 (Afterlife, Bahrain) - WOW! This made me tear up more than once
I really enjoy the character development. I found Skye annoying in the beginning but her character improved a lot. Ming-Na Wen is obviously awesome but it’s crazy how this episode opened up May’s story after all this time. And Jiaying is such a great character too. This was probably the best episode of the series so far.
What do you think of fitz and simmons?
