I saw a post on the 70th anniversary and Magicband+ being an enjoyable part of the experience. In my previous Disneyland experience (2 years ago), Magicbands had no purpose to DL. Being a WDW expert, I actually enjoy the phone for tickets, LL, etc. Is this still the case or does Magicband+ now have a presence? Additionally, I noticed in the app, I can link my park tickets to this.

Magicband+s are good as the hard ticket to scan into the parks and to use LLs. I think a few rides and WoC/F!/Fireworks do some color and vibrating tricks during the performances.
Since DL’s MDE app seems to be centered on the ticket, as long as you control all the tickets, you can just put the MB+s on your own account, and then link the MB to the ticket.
I still laugh when we were tapping in for a LL, and the guy was like “oh, a Magicband. I haven’t seen one of those since training” 
We were at DL about a year ago. The MB+ does activate a few things, but not much that I can recall. Also, I don’t know if it’s changed, but at that time the MB+ didn’t unlock hotel rooms and couldn’t be used to pay for anything. I found it far less useful at DL than at WDW.
So that is exactly how I remember it! Thank you for validating haha. The 70th stuff seemed to highlight magicband+ which got my curious. I do recall rooms having a regular entrance to them, so I’ll find out more in about a month!
The big takeaway is if you already have MB+s from WDW, they will work in DL. But it seems that purchasing new MB+s just for DL is a relatively silly idea.
For the 70th there are special places you can scan your MagicBand+ & it reacts & I think you get a ticket or something that has interesting info on it. I watched a couple early videos about the key that included info on the MagicBand stuff.
I was in DLR at the end of May. MB+ can be used to enter the parks, no fingerprint needed! It takes a picture of you the first time you enter and then uses facial recognition for future entrances. You can also use your MB+ for LLs and PhotoPass. It is supposed to be for WOC entrance but the CMs just looked at the VQ on my phone! There are a few specials where you tap your MB+ and something happens. When I was there in May, I stopped wearing my MB+ after the first day. I had to use a phone to tap in my party of 15 at each ride, sometimes making sure to select a specific LL I wanted to use so it wouldn’t consume my Multi-Experience Pass.
If I was traveling by myself, I would take my MB cause it’s generally easy to tap into the park and LL attractions. Not much more than that.

We’re a party of two and I think we were able to link both bands. Hopefully we can just use those? I don’t mind the phone though.
Yep! The reason I used my phone for my party of 15 is because buying MBs for all of them would have been hella expensive. If your entire party has MBs, they will suit your needs for LLs 90% of the time. The only time I recommend not using them is if you have an MEP at risk of being consumed that you want to hang onto.
Also worth mentioning that even if you have a MB linked to your profile in MDE, you also have to link it to your specific ticket. That doesn’t happen automatically like it does at WDW (in WDW you just have to link the ticket to your profile).
The reason being at DL you don’t link a ticket to your profile - you link it in the app so it shows up in your wallet but there is no way for the app to distinguish your ticket from anyone else’s you link.
