Magic Kingdom prediction on Jan 12, 2025

Hi everyone, finalizing planning details and park order for my upcoming trip in January and I’m really curious to see Magic Kingdom rated as a 2 for January 12. This seems a very low-crowd prediction based on the predictions from the days around it, so I was curious if there is something happening (or not happening) in the park during that day to account for this “blip” in the graph.

I guess it seems too good to be true, so I’m wondering if it’s actually NOT true and there is some big disadvantage that day that I’m missing.

That is the last day of Marathon Weekend. That’s the date they run the Marathon, itself. MK will be cleaned up by 8:00, and they will have it open by 8:30 for the EE guests.

There will be many many people still running until about 12:30, then they all want to celebrate, so riding rides may not be on the top of most of their agendas. But do expect a lot of people around the castle taking pictures with their bling.

Welcome! Ask anything and as often as needed!!

FYI – A common misconception about Touring Plans Crowd Levels is that they are an indicator of the number of people in each park. However, they are an indicator of average queue waits at the rides in that park during 11am – 5pm - the peak ride times.

A CL2 can feel like a CL6 in terms of park capacity, but the queues may be moving quickly. Conversely, you can be in a CL9 park that feels like a CL4 because the streets aren’t packed. However, all the queues are super long.

100% accurate! MK will be pretty busy, but who knows how many of those people will want to hop on Jungle Cruise or BTMRR right after running a marathon!

(Of course I can walk a “marathon” in a day at WDW going from ride to ride and never feel it until later! )
