Magic Kingdom, do you like to go left or right?

For those that have been there before are these TPs realistic? Plan on buying LLMP and LLSP for Tron. We are going on a party day 830am-6pm. Would you start on the left or the right? Maybe I’m just obsessing too much but this has become my new favorite hobby. I just want to make sure I don’t set myself up for unrealistic expectations. I want to feel okay with flexing too

If you have LLMP, probably doesn’t matter so much. I would tend to go left because most people do TL and FanL first, since they are open for Early Entry. If you aren’t doing Early Entry, then go left. Even if you do EE, you can rope drop something in Fantasyland first.

We rope dropped Peter Pan, then hit IASW because making our way to HM, TBA, and BTMRR. We did not have LLMP. But we got through things quite quickly this way. Probably would make our way to Pirates and such before crossing back over to TL and Fantasyland.

With LLMP, I’d go whichever way the LL are. Are you using early entry?

Without Golden Ticket or Rapid Stack functional anymore after the changes at the end July, not sure it will be fully possible to have many Lightning Lanes and an efficient path through the park

We could but we’re west coasters so not sure how early we will comfortably be up and at em

I am anticipating this will be the case too (though I haven’t been since the switch from G+ to LLMP). I’m expecting a lot of moving back and forth throughout the lands. For those that don’t mind a fair amount of walking, MK and HS aren’t so bad with cross-crossing back and forth. EP and AK on the other hand are tougher, especially on hot days.

If you are arriving at 9:00 am (and skipping EE), then I like going left better. If you going to PotC at 9:00 am, the line will most likely be very short so I’d consider using that pre-book for something else and going 9:00 am stand-by for PotC.

If you are going to be there for EE, I like going right better and doing EE RD at Space Mountain. With that plan, I’ve been able to get on Buzz, then Speedway, and then Dumbo after Space Mountain while lines are short (without using an LL for any of them).

Left. I went right once and
Tomorrowland was jampacked and super stressful. Not doing that again.

You’ll want to check into your first LL ASAP to unlock tiers. I’d plan for Adventureland direction without early entry.

If you get there early, you should be able to knock out 7DMT and two additional rides in Fantasyland within the first hour. There’s really no point going left if you are there for EE because those rides aren’t open. But if you aren’t there for RD, going left would likely be your best option as Fantasyland and Tomorrowland will be semi-mobbed. As the day wears on, crowds at MK should drop significantly with it being a party day. With the exception of the bangers (Tron, TBA, 7DMT, JC) most rides should be a walk on.

The Golden Rule for all theme parks, whether its a choice of path to follow or a choice of queue to enter, is to always go to the left.

I remember getting that advice before my first trip to WDW in 1998. We went to EPCOT first, and remembering the rule “always go left because most people go right”, I went left while the crowds went right, and I walked on to my first ride, Ellen’s Universe of Energy. :man_facepalming:

So I spent my first 45 minutes after rope drop in that giant theater by myself. Not all advice is good advice.

This made me lol

Coincidentally, we always go left instinctively, I’m assuming because we drive on the left instead of the right side of the road. People tend to copy traffic patterns when walking.

Exactly why most people in the U.S. go right as we drive on the right side of the road. So I guess if I ever visit Alton Towers, I should go right because the population is predisposed to go left!

To me, going left makes logical sense because it is going clockwise!

I always heard that most people go right because they go in the direction of their dominant hand.

@TwoBits most thrill seekers are going right at Alton Towers to get on The Smiler.
