In past years I’ve always vacationed with JUST the magic band. That said, going into this January trip, I was planning to just use my Apple Watch. But, being that this marathon will be my first RunDisney race, I wanted to ask if there was a benefit (race specific) I’m not thinking of for having a Magic Band on?
In the past for RunDisney races I’ve quickly scanned my MB for character photo stops. Extra layer of protection for syncing and ease perhaps? Although all those non scanned automatic photos while running always show up for me.

Depending on your timing for the runs…
If you are in the parks after they open during the race, you could use your MB to scan for food/drink purchase. (But your apple watch could probably do that as well).
