You?! I had to plan around it. It changed so many times I think we landed ar MCO and I was still scratching my head ![]()
That is a great last meal! Loved all of your pictures. I’m so glad you had this time together and I hope it was just the jolt of happiness you needed.
Safe and smooth travels home.
It sounds like you had a wonderful trip despite not fitting everything in. I’m a bit worried about the heat myself. We leave Thursday and we will be taking mid day breaks every day or just do early morning or night. I’m going to just have to go with the flow. I love your smiles in all the pictures. Glad you got to spend this time with your DS.
I’ve just convinced myself that a nice cool front is going to move in while I’m there 4th of July. Reading all these trip reports has just stressed me into total denial…lol
The absolute (well almost) worst thing just happened! ![]()

I left my phone in the bathroom at the Epcot Skyliner Station.
We are on our way to the airport. And I don’t have insurance on the phone.
It’s newish S21. I was able to get our boarding passes on DHs phone and log in here.
What’s my best course of action to get my phone back? Call guest services? Fill out a lost and found report?
Nooooooo. But do the lost and found report. Hopefully a nice person will turn it into a CM and they’ll mail it back.
It’s been a day!
So of course all of my trusted devices that I could access to get into every. single. account were either at home or the phone in question-yahoo, gmail, aol,
Samsung- everything that would grant me access to see where my phone was! This normally isnt a problem if I’m at home and have access to the 4 other trusted devices. But when out of town it sucks!! I’ve now made DHs phone and email trusted for some accounts.
Lesson: Have a backup that isn’t you!
I was able to back up to an old, albeit roughed up, phone to use for the time being. No one calls me. But I won’t be able to get text until I get this resolved.
When I got home I couldn’t use Google find my phone because my location was off. But thankfully Samsung Smart Things don’t care! Looks like my phone spent the day at the Caribbean Beach Skyliner hub. And in the last update it’s near Hollywood Studios. I hope this is a cast member turned in type of thing. Ill keep an eye on it.
I did do a lost things report and was VERY specific. I also let them know about lost location and updated that I was tracking and where it was at CB Skyliner station. Unfortunately there is noone that seems to be able to actually intercept my phone. I’m happy for anything Disney can do and just hope and pray my phone is in Disney possession. If I don’t get updated tomorrow with a positive result I will wipe it and lock it remotely.
I literally canceled my insurance becuase I haven’t had a claim in 16 years. I paid $500 for a $1200 phone. Im not financing. It is in perfect condition. I will be super sad if I can’t get it back.
I would pay to get it back! ![]()
Do you have a hub and do you use it for any smart home type uses? If so I have some follow up questions.
I was in the same situation a few years back. I lost mine on Test Track, and could see where it was with find my phone. It stayed in the same spot (inside the ride building) for 3 days, until I’m assuming the battery died. I heard nothing back from Lost & Found for well over a month, and I’d given up hope. Then I randomly got an email saying they’d found my item and were mailing it back to me.
If you can get by for awhile with the old one then I would hold off on the new one.
oh no!
I’m sorry you had such a rough ending to what seemed like an otherwise awesome trip.
Hope your phone is returned soon.
Just know that these efforts take a fairly significant amount of time for Disney. When I’ve had to put in L&F request I’ve gotten updates about weekly or every other week. I understand wiping and locking for security, but I guess I’m saying don’t give up because you don’t hear back quickly on it.
I dont. Honestly I don’t even remem making a Samsung account but I must have thankfully! I tried logging in on the backup phone I’m using now but they want to send a verification code to my other phone.
I only found out about smart things phone finding by searching how I could turn my location on to find my phone through Google. Smart Things doesn’t need your location on.
Definitely! If I don’t hear something today then Ill go to T-mobile to get a new sim card. Im just hoping deactivating the service on my old phone doesn’t cause problems. I can even see that my battery still has 65% left!
Starting to see thats what people report. I don’t use my phone for work or anything and almost all of my contacts are DHs contacts too. So they can message or call him if needed.
I think Ill hold off on wiping the data until it’s just about dead. I think I was able to see the last time it was unlocked and that was in my possession. L&F asked for the unlock code. I was a little hesitant but I don’t keep banking or credit card passwords saved on my phone for this very reason. I could change all my email passwords.
The last location was in the back of the first aid building in HS. So I’m fairly confident it’s officially with Disney. I haven’t tracked it this morning yet.
This tells me it is probably still with Disney. Generally, when a phone is swiped, it is immediately turned off (unless the person is going to wait for your call so they can ‘sell it’ right back to you) …the things you see working at a tourist destination…
Sorry this was how your trip ended!
DH has been calling my phone every so often. He’s hoping someone (CM) answers so I can get it back quicker. This is not the first time I have left my phone somewhere in Disney. It’s not even the second.
It is the first time that I couldn’t retrieve it.
I’m guessing they have a protocol about this where the CM would not pick up if someone called. That would be an invasion of privacy. That would only work if the phone was still out in the wild and a good Samaritan (who doesn’t have protocols to follow) picked it up.
That’s exactly where I would expect L&F to be. Also it would not have moved into HS and stayed there overnight unless it was with a CM, since regular guests can’t stay overnight in the park. So I give it a 99.9% chance it’s with L&F.
Had a girls trip once where we had to keep checking that one of the attendees always had her purse with her between locations. Worked great for the long weekend. Until we were leaving. We were about 30 mintues from our friend’s house where we had been staying when the forgetful one realized she didn’t have her bag.
The first time I lost it was at a store in Epcot. The CM answered and I went back to get it. They made me unlock the phone in front of them.
The second time I left it on MFSR. I tried calling it but no one answered. The next party turned it in. I got it back in about 10 minutes. They also made me unlock it in front of them.
Disney contacted my mom about my phone! Odd though since I put DH’s # in the report. Also, the L&F case numbers were different. But the info and description that I put in transfered over. They changed the email to my moms email.
I mean what if my mom and I were on the outs? Lol! She did text me this morning to see if she could drop off some things… That would have shown on my screen saver. The things are things I don’t want. She’s slowly downsizing. She brings a small laundry basket over every week or so with things she thinks someone can use. That someone isn’t me. But she also has a hard time throwing things away. And I don’t. So sure, leave them here. I’ll take care of it. It either goes in the trash or in the never ending donate pile.
I wonder how long it will take for them to ship it to me?
DS and I never really realized JUST how much we are alike until this trip. We knew we resemble each other a bit and that we did certain things alike. But DH just kept pointing out thing after thing, lol. From the way we say “no, no,no” and how we say “exactly” and “buuuuuut”. He says we even have some similar facial expressions. The way we squint our eyes and cock our lips to the side sometimes. DS also rolls his eyes a lot. I’ve been told (by DH) I do this a lot too. It’s pretty automatic, lol
