Linking tickets not purchased through Universal

Getting ready to leave for our trip tomorrow!! We purchased tickets through Costco. I have a PDF with the tickets, but I’d rather link them to my phone so I don’t have to dig for the papers. My question is: Do I scan all three tickets on my phone? Or have my husband and son scan theirs on their own phones so they don’t have to wait for me (the slowest/least technologically adept person of the three of us :upside_down_face:) to scan them all when we arrive at a park? I’m used to them handing us cards when we get to the hotel (we haven’t been since 2022) and everyone having their own. I’ve never bought a package outside Universal before. Anyone have any ideas?

Do not do this if you want them to be able to have their ticket on their own phones. I made this mistake last month and had to have them unlinked because each ticket can only be linked to 1 account

This is exactly what I was afraid of! But I wasn’t sure about making everyone troop up to the check in desk at Royal Pacific (my son hasn’t ever been there and I’m sure he’ll want to look around) to look at everyone’s phones. Maybe I just need to leave them on paper…

I looked at this not very long ago. The general answer was for everyone to link their own tickets in the app via their own devices. One lady laminated her tickets. Not sure how that worked out for her though, lol.

It is best to have each ticket indivdually linked. If you are considering keeping paper tickets, you may be able to go to the Vacation Planning desk at your hotel to get a “business card sized” ticket that a bit more durable than copy paper. Plus, these smaller tickets will fit into a Universal lanyard.

You will need a ticket to open all the lockers you have to use at most Universal rides. So you’ll see A LOT of people wearing these landyard in the parks.

Doesn’t have to be a ticket, anything with a bar code. Room key, paper locker card via TM, etc.

1 out of 10 TM’s (rule followers) will reject laminated tickets because the terms of use are not visible. I had to hop in a different line twice. It was an awkward moment when I told the TM that the first TM wouldn’t accept my ticket.

Like anyone is reading the terms of use! :woman_facepalming: Maybe a plastic, sealable pouch is better than permanent laminate.

Are they paper or plastic?

I ran into an issue linking my OI tickets to my account. Once I had an express pass linked in the Universal app, it wouldn’t let me add my park ticket because it said I already had a ticket for that day. I am wondering if I can add the Park Tickets to Maggie’s phone and the Express to my phone and then trade off who has to scan in when. Will Universal care if the same face is associated with different accounts as long as the same face is used each time for the same ticket?

We had a separate ticket for today (from a friend who is a team member) and will need to scan in with our package tickets tomorrow. Hopefully it won’t be an issue!

Please report back! I don’t think it should be an issue but you never know!

You definitely want to have each person scan their ticket! It was so much easier! Our only issue ended up being that I somehow ordered the tickets to start on Friday instead of Thursday. :woman_facepalming:t2: I still don’t know how I did it. Luckily, we had a friend who had already offered us one of her team member passes and we were able to get into IoA and USF on Thursday. She sent all of those to my husband’s email, and he sent us each a screenshot to use on our individual phones. It really was most convenient to have them independently - we saw lots of families swiping through phones and even paper tickets. We did still keep our room keys in our lanyards since we were staying at Royal Pacific and had Express for the two older parks.

I did that for our one UOR (Epic) day in March only I bought for Thursday and had it on our calendar for Friday. Thankfully, they changed it for us on Friday. I felt sooo stupid.
