Most hotels have shuttles.
Iāve stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, but it was a LONG time ago now. But it was in walking distance to restaurants. Panera. Don Shulaās. Etc.

We booked another cruise for the whole family this time, thanks to a great military rate that lined up with a random day off school for my DS16. He will only miss 2 days of school to make this work. DD18 may miss a day or 2 also but she is a college freshman so we donāt know her spring schedule yet. DD11 is homeschooled so no problem there. We did our first 2 cruises at the end of January/ beginning of February when all the kids were still homeschooled. It has been our favorite time of year to vacation.
Jan 15 2025 4 nights Western Caribbean on the Magic from Galveston
So excited to get this great deal!
This is a perfect cruise IMO.
I love 5-nights
I love smaller ships
I love Western Caribbean
Trifecta!
2/8/25 - DCL Treasure - 7 night Western Caribbean from PC. 1 night at POFQ before & 6 nights at AKL after
Two weeks from today Iām on the Wish!
Here is ours!

Weird, but hopefully wonderful.
SURELY there must be more to report here!
Cruising is on my mind (well- it is always on my mind) because I just booked a six-night Carnival cruise for May. My family is stoked!
Looks like @combatjulie left today! Have all the fun!
Everything is cruise central over here so Iāll try to be better about sharing all that I can with Liners. Right now weāre just a few short weeks from the Fantasy. Iām excited for so many things on the sailing but Iām also in that stretch where it feels like I have oh so much to do before we go & can I even pull it off, that itās kinda scary that itās only a few weeks left before we go.
We have a Disney cruise on the Wish scheduled for October! I will be sure to have a trip report and Iāll try to remember to share it here.
We have two cruises booked currentlyā¦
Dec 2025
12/4 DCL Fantasy ā¢ 3-night Merrytime Bahamian from PC
Oct 2026
10/1 RCCL Independence of the Seas ā¢ 9-night East Coast/Canada from Cape Liberty
Cool! DCL and Christmastime. I love the sound of that!
The Canada one seems short Ryan - what is the story with that? Is it part of another trip?
Woops. That shouldnāt have been 3 nights. Copied, and forgot to change.
NINE (9) night cruise to Canada!!!
Iāll edit my post about it.
Sailing on the Wonder to Alaska in August! 7 night on 8/4 out of Vancouver. Itās my first cruise
I guess I can add to this list as well. Weāre sailing a 7-night cruise on the Treasure Aug. 9, 2025. Itās our first āgoldā sailing.
I really REALLY wish I had a 2025 cruise countdown. I keep checking for some incredible deal that isnāt MSC.
ok - THAT makes sense. I canāt wait to hear about it. I wish I could manage one of those with/for my mom and sister.
At the moment, just me and my wife. But our friends who went to Disney and on the Allure of the Seas with us in March are POSSIBLY going to join us. They are interested, and making sure they can make it work.
2026 is shaping up to be a year without Disney, though. We have to let our DVC points ārestockā after our trips in 2025. So a long cruise to see the fall colors along the east coast should be niceā¦and it is an area that we wouldnāt generally travel to otherwise. The only negative is that none of the cruise options we were looking at included Chartlottetownā¦which would have been really cool to see with the Anne of Green Gables things they have to do there.
oh no - I was specifically going to ask about that, but I do know it isnāt included on many voyages. I took my older girls there (driving from NY) in 2017 and it is such a cool place. On the way there we did see a cruise ship in port in St. John, NB. My mom is originally from Ontario, Canada and has only had one brief visit to the Maritimes. She would love to visit.
Our itinerary is Cape Liberty ā Boston ā Portland ā Halifax ā St. John ā Cape Liberty.
(We are now joking that after this cruise, we WILL have been to Boston in the fallā¦)
