Ok, we are very much waffling about going on this exact cruise or not. We have a bunch planned for 2025 and did the Wish (back to back to back) in early 2024 and kids would miss 3 days of school, so weāre not sure we will book it, but itās so tempting to be gone & unplugged from life for those specific days and the Magic to San Juan sounds amazing!
We were considering this sailing too!! But are doing the one just before it (2/12-2/16) because the price for the extra night and going to both islands was just so much higher than the 4 night to just Lighthouse Pt.

My DH and I settled on this cruise for just the 2 of us because it is unique. We decided that leaving the kids for more than a 3 or 4 night cruise would be tough but most 3 or 4 night cruises go to the same spots. We have sailed on the Magic before and loved it so the kids arenāt missing out on a new ship.
I am so excited for this trip. If you decide to go for it let me know and we will have to try to link up on the cruise for a meet.
Doh, hopefully that changes soon! The Dream has been our favorite of the DCL ships so far, but weāre going for trying all of them first, unless we get a really compelling sailing!
We will definitely let you know if we do take the plunge and book it! The Magic is a wonderful ship and IMO perfect for the shorter sailings because itās more relaxed and less go-go-go (since it doesnāt have as many extras/activities). And yes, that itinerary is so unique! And weād for sure spend a couple of days after in SJ. DH & I went to SJ for our 10 yr wedding anniversary in 2019 and the kids have been jealous of that trip ever since, especially all the delicious food we ate. So itād be a chance for them to see it as well.
Yay cruisers! I am a reluctant cruiser with only one (Wish, summer 2022) under my belt. But, I have two booked for 2025! First with friends, then with DS14.

Hello @kara_nc!
The Facebook page for our sailing does a Friday countdown and today is 30 FRIDAYS away from sailing. I cannot wait! Weāll have to plan to meet-up for a Liner meet, even if itās just a quick selfie & hello in passing!
I am right now trying to figure out how I take DHās maybe and turn it into a yes for this trip. Iāve priced out and am ready strike the second he does say yes for: inside rooms on the Magic, one-way flights to Ft. Lauderdale from home & then from San Juan, PR to home and one night stay in PR after (flights home on Sunday or Monday were miserably more and weāll have debarkation day on Friday & at least until 3pm of our flying home day which I think should be enough to show the kids what I want to show them in San Juan).
But DH hasnāt put a stamp of approval yes for the budget of it. But he also keeps saying āI havenāt ruled it out either.ā So weāll seeeeee!
I can relate! When I had to write down 4 different back to school nights in my calendar in the upcoming weeks and with no more trips planned for the rest of it, my head is definitely in back to school mode!
Itās the biggest port Iāve ever seen. You will likely see a dozen cruise ships when you head in there. I felt like I was fangirling with all the ships to look at.
The two times Iāve gone out there, the traffic was tremendous heading in.
