We leave on Thursday. Good to know, though! The Norāeaster has been a problem, but the weather is looking clear for our voyage. Hopefully. Althoughā¦we are a bit concerned about my MIL. She is in the hospital and isnāt doing well. ![]()
Oh no. I hope everything is ok with her.
Praying for her Ryan
I hope everything is ok with your MIL @ryan1 . I was on Independence in July and I loved it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
4/19 RCCL Utopia of the Seas - 4 night Bahamas and Perfect Day From PC
I couldnāt resist adding a double point promo booking.
Thanks, all. We are holding our breath on the cruise right now. My MIL has Parkinsonās and Dementia. She ended up with a pulmonary embolism last week, and it was removed via thrombectomy. But then she had some bleeding and her numbers kept dropping.
This morning, they went up every so slightly, thoughā¦so perhaps we have turned a corner. My wife wants to feel confident that her mom is headed in the right direction before we hop on a cruise ship for 9 nights, as you can imagine!
Good luck with those flights!
Weāll miss each other at Coco Cay by a couple of days.
I booked flights for the 18th and we are spending the night at Vero. Did you get flights?
The only other time we tried to go to Coco Cay was when it was a tender port and it was cancelled so I am looking forward to actually making it there this time.
No I just bought tickets (only 2 thankfully!) for February vacation and April scares me!
I think we may pull the kids for 1-2 days and do an Epic day on the front end.
We will be at Coco Cay in like 2 weeks and I am so excited!
Oh, please tell me what you end up doing and if you loved it. It will be my 66th birthday and right now I did grab the Royal Beach Club but I may cancel and go in a completely different direction for the day.
On Coco Cay, DH and I like to just hang out at Harbor Beach. It has fairly calm sea water, lots of loungers and shade umbrellas, and it is close to restrooms and one of the inclusive food places. Plus it is a very short walk from where the dock connects to the island! Oh, and these things are all free - we tend to not spend on upcharge things like specialty dining, cabanas, etc. I like not being locked in to reservations for things on shore with iffy weather. We were there two weeks ago.
We do currently have this booked for October 15 but I am on the fence about it with my kids. Part of me wants to splurge and do Atlantis or Baha Mar. But I am definitely doing it in January when we go without our kids so I can update the thread.
We have been two Coco Cay 3 times now I think? I like going all the way to South Beach without kids but with my kids we setup right in front of the Wacky Seagull. If you want to do the pool, I would rope drop it while itās nice and quiet and then head for the hills when it gets crowded. We also have never spent a dime on Coco Cay! (Besides Pina Coladas!)
Yes, I am hoping for a pool for me and maybe ocean for son and daughter in law (maybe a brief dip for me). I have some baggage regarding oceans.
I may also be driven by my desire to eat some great food on my birthday.
I really appreciate that! My original plan (I may go back to it) was to do the free stuff at Coco Cay and try to get Coastal Kitchen for dinner (we are in a junior suite). I may try to do that regardless.
I think you should definitely do that! We were in a JS on the Odyssey and didnāt really have too much problem getting into Coastal Kitchen but we only ate there for dinner once. I am still debating which night we will do Chops but we are big MDR fans.
Did you actually mean Coco Beach Club at Coco Cay? (Different from Royal Beach Club on Nassauā¦)
Original plan was just to walk around all the free areas of the island (I may do that).
But is your ānewā plan to do the Coco Beach Club on Coco Cay?
Yes, I have Coco Beach Club booked.
Ah ok, very exciting! That I have no experience with.
