I would absolutely take your bags with you and check them at Riviera bell services. If scooters and gigantic strollers can fit on the SL a couple suitcases can. I did this once myself on the way to BC for CMC.

Couple of questions.
Is there still an issue with split stays?
Has anyone called in to book an Enchanted Extra with a leading reservation? I am hoping to book a Specialty Cruise for Epcot, but think I’ll need to use my leading to get it, as I’ve read they book up fast. 
Nervous to call in.
Yes you still need to bridge a split stay with your leading reservation (it should cover your entire stay plus 10 days, if possible).
People have used leading reservations to book extras. Should work fine.

I put the leading reservation in a different adult’s name and do not put that adult on the real reservation until I cancel the leading reservation. I call in as the other adult to book Enchanting Extras.

The one thing I will say about this Leading reservation approach is that how obtaining your ADRs rolls out on a day-by-day basis, it’s kind of like a rehearsal for your trip rather than just an administrative task.
Moving at the same pace as the trip itself, I can feel the flow and pace of what I’m arranging & committing to. Had three ADRs today but otherwise it’s been one a day, tomorrow it goes back to one a day and I’ll begin shifting to other parks.

Hey guys, just wanted to say a big thanks for all the info. We have a trip planned in May (first time to WDW) and just finised our 60+10 based on the leading reservation advice you all provided. Not only did we get every ADR we wanted (Cinderella, Space 220, BoG, California Grill, Story Book @ Artist Point), but we got the exact times as well. It was like we had our own personal VIP reservation system going in MDE. I was able to go back in day after day and adjust our times a little as needed as our overall plan became more clear. Thanks again! Complete game changer.

If 11/24 is the first day that you want an ADR, your leading res. check in date should be 11/14. You can book that first day’s ADR’s on 9/15.

Cancelled my leading reservation today.
I notice that it even cautions you that your ADRs will not be cancelled, so if you want to cancel those you’ll have to take additional steps to do so.
And sure enough, leading reservation gone but ADRs remain.

@gingerSnaps543222 when you used this trick for cabanas, was your leading reservation also for yacht or beach club? I’m unable to get an overlapping or leading reservation for those resorts. Instead I have AOA for two weeks overlapping with my actual beach club reservation.
The cabana I rented was at the waterpark so they did not care what resort my leading reservation was for. I’m not sure if it’ll matter when you are reserving a hotel pool cabana? I have another leading reservation for my Jun trip but so far I’m just booking dining. The only hotel I could get the leading for was CSR but I’m staying at SWGS and BWI.

When I booked my BC Cabana they asked for my BC booking and confirmed the dates of my stay there.
I suspect that if I’d attempted to book based on my AOA leading reservation, this would’ve caused issues (i.e., I would’ve had to call back later).
But I didn’t try based on my leading reservation so I’m only guessing based on the booking process I went thru.
ETA: I was also cautioned in a thread that while the online system never questions your overlapping bookings, a CM on the phone might

I’d just say I haven’t made up my mind yet and ya’ll book out so early…LOL
But yes, I was also concerned about this so I waited for the 60 days to do my cabana rental for BB and cancelled my other leading reservation first.
*Edit, I am going to book Wild Africa Trek this time around so I’m gonna see if it’s doable with the +10

Having a brain fart If someone can do some math. My trip is 8/22, so what dates should I book a leading reservation?

I’m doubting myself so somebody please confirm but if your trip is 8/22 you want your reservation to start 8/12 and go over the full length of your trip, and then you could start booking reservations June 13.
Remember to use the calculator! (You can download this sheet as excel and edit it.) If your first ADR is 8/22, your check-in date for your leading reservation should be 8/12/22.

Does leading reservation work when you have a room booked at Swan/Dolphin? Are you able to book a Disney direct on the same account?

Yes you can book two reservations on the same account, including Swan/Dolphin.
