Last Minute DL Tickets and Reservation Availability

I have a DL trip planned in late March that I may not be able to take so I haven’t bought tickets yet. I will know if I can if I can go with a lead time of approximately one week. Does anyone know if park reservations for DL using tickets usually sell out?

Hard to say!

The week of March 23th is likely Spring Break for colleges in southern CA. The week of March 30th is the week before Easter and coincides with Spring Break/Easter Break for many schools in CA.

I bought tickets for Thursday, December 11th five days before from DLR. I couldn’t get DL tickets but I could get a PH with DL as my starting park!

Are there different reservations for with or without park hopper? I’d get park hoppers so maybe that helps?

As you get closer, go through the motions of buying a ticket just to see what reservation is available based on your ticket type, one park or PH.

Get Away Today’s tickets are refundable. I don’t know al of the parameters around that, but it might be worth checking it out?

I’ll take a look. Thank you. I had planned on doing the DVC extra thing (whatever that’s called) and get the discounted tickets but I’m pretty sure those aren’t refundable.

Ti am not eligible for that, so I always forget about the perks!

We just got back from DL 2/13 to 2/17 and I bought our PH tickets and made reservations very late on 2/11. I wouldn’t necessarily advocate doing that, but it is possible. I was keeping an eye on reservation availability for the weeks leading up to it until I got the greenlight from DH to pay for the tickets. And I had started watching around Christmas time and I noticed that even at the usually busy week between Christmas & New Years, PH tickets had reservation availability for at least DCA every day.

It will also help if you are stay flexible on what days you’ll start at which park since it could happen that one park will sell out of availability for PHs to start at, but the other one won’t. And you would still be able to hop at 11am.

As for how busy it was, by far our most crowded day was Sat 2/14 followed by Sun 2/15. There were SO many performing school groups (bands & dancers) and they were in large groups and stayed pretty concentrated in DCA most of that time. There was also a TON of people out for the Lunar New Year Festival and lines for all the booths for food for that were crazy long.
