Keys to the Kingdom Start Time

I’m hoping to book the Keys to the Kingdom Tour at Magic Kingdom during an upcoming trip. I would like to take the 8 a.m. tour as people say that is the best one. However, we are not staying on Disney property so I cannot take the bus to MK early. The monorail and ferry boat do not usually begin operations until 8 a.m. Is there an alternate way to arrive at MK at 7:45 a.m.? Can I take an Uber and be dropped off at the Contemporary? Thanks!

It is rare that you would be allowed to be dropped off at the contemporary. The monorail and ferry will both be running at least an hour before early entry.

I believe Uber drops off at the TTC. I also believe you have to check in for the tour 15 minutes early anyway so if it were me, I would probably shoot for arrival at the TTC shortly after 7.

All of the above

Also, though, unless you go in the heat of summer, not sure why there is one tour that would be better than another.

I say go when it best suits your group

Hi! I just did the keys to the kingdom tour last week with the same time as you. I was able to ride the ferry at 7:20 am as the monorail was not running yet. I made it in plenty of time. They opened the gates right at 7:45 and the cms were reassuring those who were heading to the tour that the tour guides know what time the gates open

Thank you all so much, what an awesome community! I read online today that the TTC transportation opens only 30 minutes before early entry time opens - but Sunshiney, it sounds like the ferry was open, so this is very reassuring. I’ve heard that the 8 am tour is great because you can get some good pics of the castle before many people are there? Thank you!

Also, when I did that tour at that time, we got to enter Adventureland before it was open to park guests, so we had it all to ourselves with just our little tour group. Later times would not have that privilege.

TTC opens at least 90 minutes before EE. We got to the TTC around 6:15 for a 7:30 EE. Only the ferry was running. We were waiting for RD at Tomorrowland by 7:19 AM.

That is no longer the case I’m afraid.

They allow everyone into the park and down to the Hub even before early entry.

When I first did the Keys tour, we sat at a table in one of the little alleys off Main Street and watched rope drop. It was eye opening!

Your question has already been answered - just wanted to share an additional experience getting to KTTK 8AM tour. We stayed on property and used a Minnie Van/Lift. Good thing because there was a major traffic jam and the driver knew the back roads. Dropped us off right at the gate. I don’t think we would have made it on time otherwise. Expensive, but no stress.
