Island Tower @ Polynesian

We had the big porthole windows, and everyone was just fine with that. They would sit in the big porthole window frames and watch the flying fish for a long time. Not gonna lie, still got a little uncomfortable with them pressing up against the window but it was far preferable to a veranda.

We were on deck 2 our first trip and I loved the portholes! I would be totally fine with them honestly but want to give the verandah a try at least once.

Our first cruise (nonDisney) was a balcony and my husband will not entertain the idea of sailing without one. We love watching the dynamics of the ports (even just loading stuff onto the ship). We get continental breakfast delivered and eat on the balcony every morning. We generally have a before or after dinner cocktail out there. It’s so nice to have the sound of the water and the wake in a private space, even though it is small.

We have friends who are the opposite and only get inside rooms because they don’t spend any time in their room and want the cheapest option.

Both have merit, but for us, just like staying deluxe at WDW, it might be hard to go back.
