Impossible wait times for Battle at the Ministry

Hi all. Suddenly, BATM on Sept 2 has a wait time of 204 minutes… but 14 minutes in the singles line. What could be going on?!?

Isn’t there anyone who can explain this?

I can’t speak to the wait times you are seeing in your custom touring plan, but here is what waits typically look like lately, which is probably more accurate:

204 minutes is not impossible, but not common. Most days it hangs around 120-150 minutes at peak times. If you see 204 minutes, wait till later. It will almost certainly be shorter. In fact, I just checked the app and it is 75 minutes at 4pm 7/26.

Thank you. The only thing that has recently changed is that the early open time has changed from 8a to 9a, and the regular open time has changed from 9a to 10a, all on Sept 2.

I think there’s a very serious bug in how this is being handled.

I will simply use the single rider line if this doesn’t right itself. That will be unfortunate … but I’m not waiting more than 1.5 h.

If those operating hours hold (and they may not - you can’t always bank on them until like 2 weeks out), then it makes sense to me that the line would be longer at opening. It’s easier for people to make a 9am opening than 8am so there are bigger crowds at rope drop the later it is. I would avoid MoM at rope drop, personally and ride in the afternoon or evening.

Oh. It seems strange that 9a early entry is more doable than 8a early entry (it’s not like a lack of early entry), but I will take your word for it. Clearly a later rope drop makes a difference. Thanks.

I don’t have first-hand experience with Epic, but just as a rule of thumb for all theme parks, the later an opening is, the larger the rope drop crowd. There are always people who refuse to wake up before X time, and the later that is, the fewer people there are who can’t make the cutoff.

I see the same thing for Jan 2nd. I took the pre-built headliner plan, and fiddled with the options, currently on “Very relaxed” and “Balanced”, no EPA, no EP. It puts that at 10:46am for 285 minute wait. No matter how I fiddle it is 280-ish minute wait.

Note, I’m not planning on using this plan since we’ll be very relaxed, but I was using it to get a feel for the probable wait times on our first day.

Yes, there are serious bugs. When I email support, I am ignored.

Hmm @len is the support inbox being monitored? Is there someone else we should tag for IT issues?

Try submitting a request using the link I posted above. Not sure why you haven’t gotten a response.

This is the case with my family. The kids like to sleep in.

Editing: I remembered my husband took a couple of photos right after we exited the ride, and were still inside the building. We had completed riding at 9:40am.

I’m not sure if this is the best place to post this, but I wanted to share our experience at Epic on 7/15/25. The early entry time was 9am and the Regular time was 10am. We did not have early entry. The times I am posting might seem strange, but it is because I am going by the time stamp on photos I took. We were staying at Ft. Wilderness with our grandsons, ages 9 and 7. We drove to Epic, and arrived a little later than we had planned because our GPS took us in the wrong direction.

We were entering the empty parking lot at 7:55am. We were prepared for a long wait, but we wanted to do everything possible to ride the Battle at the Ministry. It turns out our plan worked perfectly.

We arrived at the gate from the parking lot at 8:04am, and there were already several people there. More arrived after we did.

That gate was opened about 10 minutes (maybe less) after we arrived. By 8:19am we had made it through security and were waiting at the main gate to show our passes.

By 8:36am we had shown our passes, and made it through the main Celestial Park entrance to a location that would lead us to Isle of Berk and Harry Potter. An employee stopped us there. There was a crowd of maybe 100 people.

Around 8:50am the employee allowed us to enter and everyone hurried to The Battle at the Ministry. Most people were just walking quickly, and a few were doing a light jog. We were walking through the indoor queue of Ministry of Magic at 8:58am. We made it quickly through the big main room of the queue. We rode the ride in less than an hour from when we entered the queue. I’m guessing about the exact time because I stopped taking photos once we entered the hallway portion of the queue.

I hope this helps someone.

I’m puzzled that this worked.

On the one hand, that’s quick compared to other waits. On the other hand, seems like a long time for being one of the first in the queue! Did it start operating shortly after you entered or did it have a delay / breakdown? I guess a lot of people got passed you on the way there?

Are they still using the Virtual Line for Battle?
