I'm going to Disneyland Paris! (now featuring Trip Report!)

I thought you spent it all on two self-indulgent trips to Disney World.

I’ve only had ONE of them so far.

I’m assuming Finance Smurf, given the location

Wrong.

So the plan is — I’d like to visit the Eiffel Tower (well, close enough for pictures), Les Invalides (Napoleon’s tomb) and the Arc de Triomphe. If there’s a Starbucks on the Champs Élysées (how can there not be?) then that’s even better.

You know, I’m a little disappointed now. I mean, after watching The Imagineering Story about how the French didn’t want American nonsense like Mickey Mouse to invade their land and were very skeptical of the park…it seems ironic to find a Smurf in the middle of Paris.

So, it isn’t nonsense that is the problem. It is AMERICAN (or non-French) nonsense. Because French nonsense is perfectly okay, apparently!

Soup’s here. Wonder if it’ll be as good as the one at BOG hahahahahahaha

Why? Smurfs originated in France.

And not that I knock a trip to Paris for any reason (especially on an obviously beautiful day) but is DLP so mundane that you’re done already?

Oh, I know. Just seems funny to me. As if they are too high class to have any such nonsense, and yet they have Smurfs.

Did you edit your post after the fact? The very next sentence you addressed this but on my screen I swear it wasn’t there.

No. I didn’t. But now that you mention it, on occasion I do see some odd behavior on this site. A few days ago, I could scroll down through posts until a certain point, where they would just show a loading animation. It didn’t matter how many times I tried, it wouldn’t load, even if I went to another thread and came back. Then, after it finally loaded, I couldn’t scroll BACKWARDS to the earlier posts.

A few hours later, it was back to working normally.

As, ahem, I explained, this morning it was cold and rainy and I was at the park ranked 14th out of 14 by the Brickers. It has three decent rides. I did all three, two twice.

I am not, as you know, a subscriber to the poncho-up-and-carry-on philosophy. Disney is not Disney to me in the rain.

And I was a forty minute train ride from one of the world’s most beautiful cities.

It was the right call for me.

I have until 3pm in the parks tomorrow. That’s about six hours.

Or I just need more coffee.

And a mickey pretzel. Maybe an ice cream. Oooo, one of those waffles that are shaped like a mouse… yyyyeah. That’s what I need.

I think what he’s saying is that Disney in a cold rain is exactly the same as England so why bother.
