I tried to do the title with no actual words. Not bad.
Anyways, I’ve got a trip planned for June to stay at Boardwalk. The last time I was there in 2024, GOTG was only VQ and LLSP. When we would RD Epcot from the International Gateway, we headed to Remy. I’m assuming it is not worth it to try to RD Guardians from the IG. Is that an accurate statement?
Just wanted to make sure and I guess we will plan on Ubering to the front gate.
It’s a hike for sure. I don’t personally know that I would spend the money on a rideshare for that purpose, but it would be a great way to cut down some of that walk. I know others have done it this way.
I only understood “gotg”. The rest of the title, I have no idea what it means.
Yay! We love Boardwalk.
Probably not. But…you can create a Touring plan with what you want to accomplish, and see what they recommend. You can adjust which gate you enter from and see how that affects the plan.
It seems counterintuitive, but sometimes it is NOT the best use of your time to rope drop (oh! That’s the “rd” part of your title!) the most popular rides because everyone else is doing the same. The result is you end up spending longer in line there than you had hoped, and missing out on the other rides that have almost no wait. During ETPE you can often ride 1-2 other rides before the main guests are let in with little to no wait. If you can do that, and still make it to GOTG before the off site guests are let in, you might do better than trying to hike it to GOTG or even Ubering.
It took me multiple posts before I knew what the letters meant, too.
I’ve never stayed at BW, but I would probably not RD GOTG, and concentrate elsewhere. Clearly, every day is its own thing, but GOTG has many periods of the day where the wait is only ~60 mins.
It depends on what you want to accomplish. Want to ride GOTG and then get in line again? or ride TT before the regular crowds come in? Take an Uber to the front of the park and plan to be at the toolbooth 60 mins before EE opening.
If you are okay with one ride during EE, enter from IG. I think some people have had luck riding Remy then getring to GOTG or TT before rwgular entry - so that is an option with risk.
Jist an FYI - I believe the process for EE has changed since he wrote this article - they now send people directly to the putdoor queue instead of a hold at Innovations. It works much better I think!
I found the Earscouts videos very helpful. From IG.
From Main entrance.
Here is my experience in October entering from the front:
Read all the posts and watched the videos. Our goal to RD Guardians is to ride it as much as possible. If we can get to the main gate and be towards the front, then I would try to ride it twice before the regular crowd comes in. That could potentially give me three rides relatively easy if I am able to ride it twice and then do LLSP later in the day.
Don’t they hold cars and Ubers at the auto gates longer than they do buses? I’m wondering if it would be better to Uber to another hotel that has bus service to Epcot.
For the record, I understood the thread title on first glance.
On my recent trip, we did not attempt to RD GotG. We arrived during EE (not before) and hit up Soarin’, then used a LL on TT. We rode GotG twice - once with an LLSP around 1pm and again later during Deluxe EEH, both with a reasonable wait. I would recommend either that or hopping in line right before park close as an alternative to RD.
I understood the Cosmic Rewind rope drop but missed that it was ig or International Gate
A person that wanted to ride a LOT could simply keep getting in line and either spend the wait time chatting up (annoying) folks around them or play silly games on their phone (bring plenty of portable chargers)
