Poly - IMO it’s the best themed pool on property and has one of the best slides
Stormalong Bay - Best slide, great sandy beach area for kids, and a lazy river that is pretty OK
Third spot is a tougher choice … I think I’ll go for Wilderness Lodge. I love the vibe there and the slide is better than you’d think just looking at it.
Honorable mention for the upcoming Lakeshore Lodge pool! Also I really enjoy the atmosphere at the Value pools, even though they are probably less fun than the Deluxe ones.
In this case it was localized (she basically made it to the edge but not quite) and easier to clean up but I totally get the hesitance. It’s one of those things that’s kind of gross to think about too much.
Good point - Riverside! It is beautiful and highly themed. Decent waterslide too, so I was confused by @Jeff_AZ slide comment and figured I was remembering wrong. Nice catch!
Does anyone else remember when pool hopping WAS allowed? I remember it being allowed… years and years ago…. okay probably a couple of decades ago. I remember them telling us during our DVC touring/selling thing that pool hopping was permitted and I read it too. I wish there was a way back machine to find it
I do remember that, and I haven’t been watching DVC that long so I looked it up and they actually suspended pool hopping for DVC members only in 2020 as part of pandemic restrictions. There were several major pools - like Poly and Stormalong - that were restricted from pool hopping even back then, and they occasionally suspended all pool hopping during busy periods.
I had expected pool hopping to return for DVC guests because we bought into DVC after 2020, and for a couple years the temporary ID card still listed pool hopping as allowed, so the restrictions seemed temporary. Then it was eventually removed from the ID card at some point.
We don’t usually even use the resort pools as it is. Maybe the hot tubs. So it isn’t a big deal. But I do wish there were lazy rivers at more of the resorts. That is something we could see ourselves using. (And is really the only thing we are going to Typhoon Lagoon for this August.)
To be honest, pool hopping is the last thing I can imagine myself doing, even if it were allowed. I hate getting dressed up in swimming suits and getting in the car. The whole idea with staying at a hotel is that the pool is onsite!
But I do love the DVC pools and if I could teleport there (or legitimately use one as a guest), just about all of them are good.
